Jacquie Beltrao explains new look post chemo

Jacquie Beltrao has shared an update with fans as she went for her latest breast cancer scan – and it is a positive outcome.

The sports presenter, who was first diagnosed in 2013 before having a mastectomy, uploaded a video on her Instagram profile saying that there is ‘no evidence of the disease.’

She wrote: “Scan results are in – it’s very good news again – I’m super lucky I know that – no evidence of disease at all.

“I’m never certain of these results and don’t take them lightly because they are a gift that loads of people don’t get. Because their treatment doesn’t play ball or their body doesn’t.

“Mine has for now and the Beltrao supporters club at home are thrilled that I’ve been so fortunate.”

She continued: “Not to mention my long suffering oncologist who is beyond brilliant.

“So please go out this weekend and grab life do something fun and don’t forget to CHECK YOUR BOOBS (not boots as the captions say).

“Although winter is coming so maybe check your boots as well,” completed with laughing and boot emojis.

Three years ago, Jacquie was told the tragic news that the disease had returned and spread to her legs and spine.

However, thanks to an incredible drug called olaparib, she was able to fight off her cancer and the 58-year old is now free of the disease.

The former Olympic gymnast has been working as a sports presenter for Sky for over 30 years.

She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and underwent a mastectomy and reconstruction.

However, during lockdown in 2020 she found a lump just below her collarbone that was the size of a grain of rice.

Doctors told her that it was stage four breast cancer and much more aggressive. Yet, within weeks of taking the olaparib therapy drug, Jacquie was told that the disease had slowed down.

In June 2021, she was informed that the cancer was completely gone and has since been cancer free ever since.
