'Rebellious' Sunny Hostin & 'dominant' Ana Navarro take over on The View as Whoopi & Alyssa are alienated, says expert | The Sun

IT looked like business as usual for The View panelists on Tuesday as Season 27 got underway.

But a body language expert has exposed some of the co-hosts as "fake" as they "unify" against others on the US daytime TV show.

Joy Behar, 80, Sunny Hostin, 54, Ana Navarro, 51, Whoopi Goldberg, 67, Sara Haines, 45, and Alyssa Farah Griffin, 34, are back with a new round of The View.

But a clip ahead of the September 5 opener showed the seasoned TVpresenters taking turns on a microphone.

The panelists shared their hopes for the upcoming series and teased what viewers might expect.

A new logo and a glam table were seen on set, but a body language expert claimed other changes were at play.

In an exclusive interview, Judi James told The U.S. Sun: “The promo showed power-jostling and self-promotional rituals.

“Joy kicked off as the alpha leader and showed her claws.

“There are now other alpha challengers in Sunny and Ana, who sat with their legs crossed toward one another and unified against Joy.

"They displayed fake smiles and distant gazes. This suggested they did not like the headmistress's behavior."

James also noted how the other panelists stayed on the periphery.

“Then there was flirty go-it-alone Alyssa," she said.

“Whoopi was domineering but now out of the group on a limb.

“This season's shows looked different.”

WHOOPI

The Sister Act star has been on The View since 2007.Whoopi walked off set in July, ahead of the summer break.

This came after a heated discussion over the controversy around aMiranda Lambert concert.

In February, Whoopi was suspended for two weeks after saying the Holocaust was not about race.

"When Whoopi popped out from behind the camera in the promo, the group formation was shattered," added James.

"But she placed herself in an elite role.

"She dominated the action but Whoopi did not and will not join the group."

JOY

Joy is the longest-running host on the show. She joined in 1997 and is known to be the most vocal.

In 2021, co-host Meghan McCain, 37, went on maternity leave before leaving the panel permanently in 2022.

Of her maternity leave, Meghan said: “Joy Behar said on air: ‘Nobody missed you, we didn’t miss you, you shouldn’t have come back.'"

"Joy attacked the mic and tapped as a challenging alpha female who will take anyone down," explained James.

"She cemented her position by standing with her hands on her hips. This was a splay of authority.

"Joy’s dominance looked complete but it was not entirely. It unsettled two other hosts."

ANA

Ana joined The View last fall after working on the show in 2015 for season 19.

From the start, the outspoken married CNN contributor has become just as famous for the dramatic looks she regularly showcases online.

"Ana has become the challenge for Joy in terms of leadership.

"She grabbed the stem of the mic in a firm and decisive grip.

"Ana looked impatient to get stuck in while her gestures implied total dominance.

"Ana's hands on her hips also defined this new rebellion."

SUNNY

Sunny has been a staple favorite on The View since joining in 2016.

The smiley lawyer is one of the show's most recognizable pundits.

Like Ana, Sunny has garnered interest from fans and followers over her transformed style and looks.

"Sunny also mirrors Ana with some of her rebellious behaviors," claimed James.

"But she added a touch of cute body language in there.

"Sunny might be dangerous to underestimate on this season's show.

"She tapped the mic but then made a stabbing point to suggest she is up for a fight."

SARA

After many appearances as a guest co-host, Sara joined The View permanently in 2020.

The pretty mom of three is known to make viewers laugh with her happy-go-lucky, sometimes softer personality.

James claimed that "schoolgirl" Sara looked like less of a rebel and more of a "pleaser."

She said: "Sara flapped her arms out to her sides. She took direction without any challenge and was ready to roll as she was told.

"Her words were delivered like a schoolgirl doing a recitation.

"There was no clap-back when Joy called her out on using four words instead of three."

ALYSSA

Alyssa officially replaced Meghan McCain in September 2022.

While Alyssa has been a popular newcomer she is the panel's only conservative co-host.

In August the married brunette argued with Sunny over her support of former Vice President Mike Pence in the 2024 election.

"Alyssa's body language showed alienation from the others," added James.

"There is a flirty and delicate hand on the lower stem of the mic so she looks like the polite option.

"Alyssa listened with her head cocked and her arms straight to her sides.

"Alyssa threw both arms up in the air, suggesting she was keener to fight for the camera's attention though."
