Parents race to Argos to nab a summer essential reduced to £9 that's perfect for toddlers in the heatwave | The Sun

IT can be difficult to find ways to keep toddlers cool during the heatwave.

So it's no wonder parents are racing to Argos to nab a £9 buy that will be perfect for the hot weather this weekend.

Georgie took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook to share her bargain purchase.

Alongside a picture of the Bestway Underwater Splash Pad, Georgie wrote: "Paid £30 beginning of summer.

"Just got one for next year as my kids punctured ours!"

The splash pad is now in the clearance section at Argos, and has been reduced to an impressive £9.

"I got one, they're brill," one person commented.

And the reviews on the Argos website also paint a positive picture.

"Bought this to replace a previous splash pad," one wrote.

"This one is good, great fun for small children. Water jets don't spray particularly high but still do the job."

"Brought for grandson instead of filling a paddling pool he loves it," another added.

However, others insisted the jets on the splash pad don't go as high as they should.

"This has the potential to be a great splash/paddling pool with the added fun of the sprinklers… however the base is not separated from the rim that has the holes for the sprinkler, so the air just escapes," one wrote.

"A hose needs high pressure at all times to make this worthwhile.

"Shame as a dual purpose, shallow mat, would work well with little ones… maybe I didn’t read the full description but I had one disappointed toddler."

"Bought for granddaughter was a bit disappointing as the water didn’t shoot up very much but could be not enough pressure in my hose," another added.

"But she liked it anyway!"

If you can't find one of the reduced splash pads in Argos, there are other options elsewhere.

In the comments section of Georgie's post, other parents revealed they'd managed to pick similar ones up in Asda.
