Gonk-lovers are racing to Poundland for 'huge' £2.50 decorations – and they’re perfect for Christmas | The Sun

SHOPPERS are racing to Poundland for “huge” Gonk decorations that are perfect for Christmas.

The discounter is flogging massive plushies for as little as £2 – and some even have uber long legs, meaning you can hang them over your shelves or sofas.

There’s also £3 Baby Gonks, £1 Light Globe Gonks and £3 Doorstop Gonks.

The full range is only available in stores at the moment, but Poundland does have a smaller selection in stock online.

Gonks started weaving their way into British Christmas decorations back in 2020, earning themselves titles as festive gnomes.

But the faceless characters are much older than gnomes; their origins date back to 1600s Scandinavia.

Gonks are commonly made from wool, fabric and felt – and their long beards make them look like mini Santa Claus’.

However, they are not technically Christmas decorations.

Brits have been including them in their festive decorations over the last few years, including celebrities like Stacey Solomon and Mrs Hinch.

Gonk-lovers have taken to Facebook group Get Your Gonk On to gush over Poundland’s collection.

The hero product is a Christmas Gonk with long legs that has been slashed in price from £7 to £2.50.

Stephanie Bates picked up two because she “thought her eyes were deceiving her” at the price.

The cuddly character has red legs, a long white beard and a huge cone hat with gold foil detailing on it.

Poundland’s Gonk collection shot to popularity back in 2021.

Now, fans of the little characters look forward to see what bargain goodies they can nab ahead of every festive season.

Similarly, shoppers were recently rushing to Asda for autumn Gonk cushions slashed to just 70p.
