Emily Ratajkowski praises divorce at 30 after Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner split

Sophie Turner breaks silence after confirming split with Joe Jonas

Emily Ratajkowski has shared her thoughts on being divorced by the age of 30 after Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner and musician Joe Jonas confirmed the end of their marriage this week.

In a TikTok video, the 32-year-old insisted there was “nothing better” than figuring out your own life after exploring the “marriage fantasy” early on.

Emily, who herself tied the knot with Sebastian Bear-McClard back in 2018 before they split over a year ago, said of the likes of Sophie: “So, it seems that a lot of young ladies are getting divorced before they turn 30.

“As someone who got married at 26, has been separated for a little over a year [at] 32, I have to tell you, I don’t think there’s anything better.”

The mother-of-one went on to detail how good it felt to be in your 30s “still being hot, maybe having a little bit of your own money [and] figuring out what you want to do with your life”.

She added: “And, having tried that married fantasy and realising that it’s maybe not all it’s cracked up to be.

“Then you’ve got your whole life still ahead of you.

“So for all of those people who are feeling stressed about that ― about being divorced ― it’s good.”

Emily captioned her post: “Personally I find it chic to be divorced by the age of 30.”

The model gave her opinion after Sophie, 27, and Joe, 34, released a joint statement addressing speculation about their marriage ending on Wednesday.

The pair, who also have two children together, wrote on their respective accounts: “After four years of wonderful marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage.

“There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”

Speculation first began when Joe was spotted meeting up with divorce lawyers and was later seen not wearing his wedding ring in August.

In a later post on Instagram, the band was back on his finger as he posed alongside brothers and bandmates Kevin and Nick.

Additional reports claimed Sophie had supported the trio at their gig in Texas last week, although no pictures supported this.

The couple tied the knot back in 2019 at two ceremonies, one in Las Vegas and again in France.

Game of Thrones star Sophie has previously said it was love at first sight when she met Joe back in 2016.

Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, she spilled: “The first night I met him, I remember, he left my apartment. And it may have been the alcohol.

“I remember him leaving, and I weeped, I wept to my brother, ‘I love this man so much.’ And I knew, and that was it!”
