I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner Sam Thompson, who was crowned King of the Jungle during Sunday night's grand final of the ITV reality show on 10 December, has spilled all on his emotional first phonecall with girlfriend Zara McDermott.
Zara, 26, was celebrating her beau's fantastic win back home in the UK with a huge viewing party packed with their family and friends.
Sadly though, the former Love Island star and documentary-maker wasn't able to make the long flight over to Australia to support Sam, 31, in person, due to earlier scheduling conflicts.
As a result, the proud girlfriend was forced to have her first contact with Sam over the phone, when he called her at 4am UK time – after the winning campmate admitted he'd tried to send her a "secret message".
Once the final interviews and filming pieces were done, Sam was finally let loose to shower and recuperate in private after his three-week jungle experience.
The Made in Chelsea star and podcast host was completely overwhelmed to be the show's winner, and clearly over the moon to be greeted by best pal Pete Wicks on the bridge before heading back to his hotel to share the news with Zara.
Recalling how the first conversation with Zara went, Sam told The Mirror: "She said sheโs fallen in love with me all over again and that this is the most proud sheโs ever been.
โIt was so lovely to hear, as it had been a long month and she was obviously my first call.
"I needed to hear her voice to remind me of home, even though she said I probably smell!".
Sam went on to say he'd "really, really missed" Zara during his time in the jungle, and with his camp life over, he couldn't wait to fly back home and give her a "squeeze".
What's more, Zara told her long-term boyfriend how much she was looking forward to them getting back to their normal day-to-day life, and enjoying the small things in their relationship.
Sam revealed they'd talked about spending Christmas together, decorating the tree, and cuddling on the sofa.
The star laughed that Zara knew they were the "little things" he wanted to hear after living in the jungle for three weeks.
โIโm like a hobbit, and sit in a hole for most of the year," Sam added.
It comes as fans were left completely taken-aback to learn that Sam's real name is much grander than he'd let on, and includes a super fancy middle name.
TV journalist Liam Hamilton revealed it after the show's live final, when he posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, congratulating the winner: "Sam Thompson – aka 'Samuel Robert De Courcy Thompson', yes really! – crowned King of the Jungle in front of 7.5m viewers."
