Rayne Royce (Jemma Donovan) demonstrated what she’s really capable of in Hollyoaks on Monday (August 21), assaulting boyfriend Romeo Nightingale (Owen Warner) in a heated showdown.
The influencer, who is used to holding all the power, was left scrambling to save her career after Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) leaked a video of her online, which confirmed that she staged a fight to increase her follower count.
Peri’s actions came after months of trying to prove that Rayne is a self-obsessed liar who will do just about anything to isolate Romeo from his loved ones. Rayne later blackmailed the nurse with an incriminating video of her paying off a dealer for Donna-Marie, which prompted Peri to fight fire with fire.
In the aftermath of Peri’s video going viral, Rayne posted an apology video on her platforms, hoping to win back the trust of the followers she’d lost over the incident.
Faye (Madelyn Smedley), the influencer manager who had agreed to represent Rayne just prior to the video incident, was quick to offer advice, urging Rayne to stage a comeback ‘bigger than Beyonce’.
Romeo came up with an idea to assist, suggesting that he and Rayne throw the party to end all parties at a lavish hotel, which would no doubt catch the eye of Love Cave producers. Faye commended him for the idea and, while grateful, Rayne was worried about how she would bankroll such an event.
The social media superstar approached Lacey Lloyd (Annabelle Davis), who was enjoying an afternoon with Nadira Valli (Ashling O’Shea), and berated her for not picking up, asking her not-so-nicely to help fund her event, ordering her to ask James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) for a raise.
Romeo was appalled at his girlfriend’s aggressive behaviour, particularly in regards to how she treated her best friend in the world, and confronted her on the matter when they returned home.
Rayne, however, resorted to some pretty horrifying lows – even for her – as she verbally attacked Romeo for not taking her side.
Romeo clapped back, however, telling her that she’ll end up alone.
When he tried to leave, Rayne pushed him, before doing so again – this time more violently, resulting in Romeo falling into a glass table, which shattered to pieces underneath him.

He lay in agony on the floor, as Rayne attempted to process what she’d done. Will she be able to talk her way out of this one?
Or will this cruel act of violence prove to be what it takes for Romeo to see just who Rayne really is?
