Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise cast united in crossover
Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall admits that he was “worried” about reprising the role of DI Humphrey Goodman in the Death In Paradise spin-off show, Beyond Paradise.
The actor began: “You know it was really easy to sling on the old costume. I was worried about it because I hadn’t played him for four or five years and Covid happened and that kind of stuff.”
“But it was great, it was really easy and natural,” he exclusively added to Express.co.uk on the red carpet at last night’s NTAs.
Kris left Death In Paradise in 2017 to spend more time with his family before reprising the role for the spin-off which launched in February last year.
It follows after the DI left the tropical paradise of Saint Marie in search of a quieter life in the sleepy Devon town of Shipton Abbott, home to his fiancée Martha Lloyd (played by Sally Bretton).

Needless to say, life didn’t remain quiet for very long and he was soon called upon to put his investigative skills to good use.
It has proved a huge hit attracting 8.7 million viewers making it one of the biggest dramas of the year so far.
“The fan reaction has been incredible,” Kris acknowledged. “I feel absolutely honoured to be able to give the character that I love a second life in our new show. It’s a complete standalone show which is unique.”
Although nominated for Best New Drama at last night’s awards, it lost out to Netflix gothic drama Wednesday.
However, it has secured a second season and Kris has hinted as to what viewers can expect.
