Coronation Streets Bailey family ripped apart as betrayal exposed

Coronation Street: Ryan Connor considers online sex work

Coronation Street’s Ed Bailey (played by Trevor Michael Georges) is set to have his heart broken by his own brother after finding out he ruined their latest business venture.

In upcoming scenes, Ed is excited to tell Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) about a plot of land for sale with planning permission for six houses.

He explains that with careful planning they could make a decent fortune off of the land and the houses they build.

Reluctantly, Ronnie agrees to look at the details despite already knowing that he’s spent the money.

Trying to buy him more time, Ronnie suggests that they get a surveyor to take a look at the land before they make any rash decisions.

Elsewhere in the cafe, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) assures Ronnie that he only needs to stall Ed for a few more days.

Ed later reveals that he’s hired his own surveyor to speed things up and reckons they should phone the estate agent to put an offer in on the land.

Ronnie masks his panic knowing that he’ll have to come clean about the money and could potentially ruin his relationship with his brother.

Later, Ed is disappointed to find out that there has been a lot of interest in the plot of land and they’re currently taking sealed bids.

Hiding it from Ed, Ronnie is relieved about the setback but is soon given more bad news when Debbie tells him that Newton and Ridley shares have nose-dived and he’d better hope Waterfords make an offer soon.

Panicking about what to do, Ronnie tells Ed that he is having second thoughts about the new project and thinks they should pull out of it, but Ed won’t hear of it.

In The Rovers, Ronnie hears Henry Newton (George Banks) explaining that his dad intends to sell the brewery but he is doing everything he can to stop it.

Ronnie catches the businessman outside and urges him to accept Waterford’s offer, but Henry points out that he never mentioned Waterford and demands to know where Ronnie got his information.

How will Ronnie talk his way out of this one?

When Ed reveals he’s put in a bid for the plot of land, Ronnie’s forced to explain there’s no money because he blew it all on Newton and Ridley shares which are now worthless.

How will Ed react? Has this ruined their relationship forever? Will Ed be able to trust his brother again?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
