WOW… what a day we had!
Mostahdaf was simply brilliant as our plan to down Paddington came off a treat.
I feel for Jim Crowley who missed out but he helped me with the tactics and it was job done all round.
Running him at that trip is the key and we got the fractions spot on. Lovely jubbly.
On to today and the Yorkshire Oaks has been very kind to me over the years.
As you know, I love York, and this race especially holds a special place in my heart.

The love I had for her surpasses everything.
And I don’t think any other horse gave me so many great emotions, particularly at York where the crowd loved her too.
They know a good horse when they see one in the flesh.

This year I’m on FREE WIND (3.35), who was looking like a bit of a superstar herself earlier on this year.
She was good in the Middleton, which has turned out to be a pretty strong piece of form, but then she ran flat at Ascot and conditions were too tough at Goodwood.
She’s not the biggest filly in the world, so carrying lots of weight on that ground at Goodwood was not ideal, she just sunk in it.
Racing was abandoned that afternoon because the ground was so bad, so we’ll put a line through that.
Back on better ground at a track she likes, we’re hoping for better.
Bluestocking is a very nice filly too, I’ve ridden her before and I know Ralph Beckett has always liked her a lot.
And Aidan’s O’Brien runner Savethelastdance looks solid too.
The Listed Galtres Stakes looks wide open, too.
SPRING FEVER (4.10) hasn’t been at her best the last twice, but I think there’s every chance she can bounce back.
The extra distance at Newbury stretched her, and then she didn’t get the kindest of runs at Newmarket last time out.
She was caught behind a wall of horses and then asked to make up a lot of ground on what were testing conditions.
