A WEST HAM fan made the massive journey from London to Ghana to watch new signing Mohammed Kudus in action.

Ian, from London, made the 3,700 mile trip to Kumasi to watch the Black Cats take on the Central African Republic in an African Cup of Nations qualifying match.

Wearing a West Ham shirt as he entered the ground, Ian was spotted by a local journalist who was keen to find out why he was at the game.

He told Ghanaweb: "I am here to watch Mohammed Kudus, our new signing.

"He is very skilful and strong. We love him.

"West Ham are massive everywhere you go.

"I’m coming all the way from the UK to come and watch Kudus, 23, and the Black Stars."

The game was a worthwhile watch for Ian as Ghana claimed a 2-1 victory to seal their qualification for the international tournament in the Ivory Coast.

To make things even better, Kudus netted a free-kick in the 43rd minute to level the scores before Ernest Nuamah scored a dramatic winner in the 88th minute.

After watching the game, Ian was then given the opportunity to meet the new Hammer.

The two had a conversation and the West Ham supporter was given a Ghana shirt with the No.20, Kudus' squad number.

They posed for photos showing the two holding the shirt and doing the crossed hammers with their arms.

The pictures were shared on Twitter by the official account of the Ghanian national team, to which Kudus quoted with: "⚒️♥️🙏🏾".

Kudus was West Ham's final signing of the transfer window as he made the move from Ajax for a fee in the region of £35million with £3m more in potential add-ons.

He had been touted with a move to some of the biggest sides in the Premier League such as Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

However, the Hammers were able to complete a deal for the promising Ghanian.

Kudus enjoyed a breakthrough season in Holland with Ajax last term.

The attacking midfielder netted 18 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions, including a brilliant strike against Liverpool in the Champions League.
