Folarin Balogun has had a horror show as he missed two penalties on his first start for Monaco.

The former Arsenal striker saw both his efforts saved by Nice goalkeeper Marcin BuƂka.

To make matters worse for the ace, Jeremie Boga scored the only goal of the game to win it for Nice in the 91st minute.

    North London derby preview

Arsenal will host Tottenham in a highly anticipated North London derby tomorrow afternoon.

    What is the team news?

Mikel Arteta will be sweating over the fitness of Brazilian sensation Gabriel Martinelli who sustained a hamstring injury in last week's win against Everton.

Long-term absentees Thomas Partey and Jurrien Timber are certainly set to miss the North London derby.

But all eyes will be on the goalkeeper scenario and whether Arteta decides to stick with David Raya or bring Aaron Ramsdale back into the fold.

Elsewhere, Tottenham have confirmed that Ivan Perisic has suffered an ACL injury which could see the Croatian miss the rest of the season.

And he'll be joining the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur, Bryan Gil and Ryan Sessegnon who are all on the sidelines.

    TWENTY clubs keen on Nusa

Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly joined Chelsea in eyeing “the next Neymar”.

Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Marseille are also among at least TWENTY clubs understood to be monitoring £30million-rated Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa.

The Norwegian, 18, became the second youngest Champions League scorer ever in September 2022 during a 4-0 group win over Porto.

But scouts were disappointed when Brugge left Nusa out of the squad for Thursday’s 1-1 Europa Conference League draw at home to Besiktas.

Chelsea had a £26million deadline-day bid rejected for the two-footed teen who already has two full caps.

However, the Evening Standard reckon he would only have stepped straight into Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team squad had wideman Ian Maatsen or midfielder Conor Gallagher been sold.

Sam names winner of Odegaard vs Maddison

Sam Allardyce insists Arsenal star Martin Odegaard is better than Tottenham midfielder James Maddison.

    “Mightily impressive last season!”

'Red Devils keen on Arsenal target Boey'

Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Galatasaray star and Arsenal target Sacha Boey, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been on the French defender’s trail for the past six months.

Boey, 23, helped his Turkish club run away with the Super Lig title in May.

The Paris-born ace has also attracted strong interest from Arsenal, who are understood to have had a ÂŁ15million bid rejected during the summer.

Versatile Boey can operate at right-back, right wing-back or in central defence.

Newcastle, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace are among other clubs credited with interest in the former Rennes and Dijon defender.

    Martinelli blow

Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their clash with fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.

The Gunners play host to Spurs in the eagerly anticipated North London derby and it looks as though they could be without Gabriel Martinelli.

Martinelli has been a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s side for the last few seasons with nobody scoring more Premier League goals for the Gunners last term.

But the Brazilian limped off injured in the early stages of Arsenal’s trip to Goodison Park to face Everton last weekend.

And his injury saw him miss out on the North London outfit’s return to the Champions League too as he was absent from Arteta’s matchday squad on Wednesday.

Red Devils 'willing to offer ÂŁ48m for Arsenal target'

Manchester United have been tipped to steal a march on rivals like Arsenal and Chelsea by bidding ÂŁ48million for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson.

The Republic of Ireland star, 18, could be at the centre of a bidding war in January.

And Fichajes have named United as one club already willing to prepare an offer for the 6ft 2ins hitman.

But it's believed the Seagulls are determined to hold onto him and would hold out for more than 100million euros (ÂŁ88m).

Real Madrid have also been linked with the teenager.

Gunners 'bid to tie down White and Zinchenko'

Arsenal will try to tie Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko to new long deals.

It follows skipper Martin Odegaard landing a five-year contract.

Football Insider say the Gunners will now prioritise versatile White and fellow defender Zinchenko.

Young stars like William Saliba and Bukayo Saka had already agreed lengthy stays.

And manager Mikel Arteta is keen for last season's Prem runners-up to keep developing as a unit, on top of recruiting world-class newcomers like Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Kai Havertz.

  • 'Real deal' Spurs will trouble Gunners

TROY DEENEY: This may be a bit premature but Tottenham look like the real deal.

What they have done since letting Harry Kane leave is transform themselves into a squad that is no longer reliant on one player. Instead, they are a squad to be feared.

It is still early days but it looks like Tottenham have a talented squad and a manager in Ange Postecoglou to play attacking football — something the fans have demanded since the days of Glenn Hoddle and more recently Mauricio Pochettino.

Sunday’s North London derby is Tottenham’s first real test and I still believe Arsenal will win. But it will certainly be a more entertaining game than in previous seasons.

Back in January, it was all going a bit rotten with Conte. Spurs were just looking to spoil and contain and Arsenal won comfortably 2-0.

    This time, I feel it could be a high-scoring contest . . . I hope I haven’t cursed it by saying that.

Tottenham are in a win-win situation. Even if they lose,  the good work will not suddenly get undone.

Ange will be given time to mould and stabilise but he speaks like a winner so why not go out and get after Arsenal from the off? Have a real crack, cause some problems.

How the star playmakers match up

And that's one reason Sunday's North London derby is between two top-four sides.

Arsenal skipper Odegaard has been praised for developing so well under Mikel Arteta.

And Maddison has more than justified second-placed Tottenham paying relegated Leicester ÂŁ45million for the England star.

Mikel: Selling Kane has changed Spurs style

Mikel Arteta believes Arsenal will face a new-style Tottenham on Sunday – thanks to how new boss Ange Postecolgou has handled losing Harry Kane.

England skipper joined Bayern Munich for ÂŁ100million, netting five goals in five games so far for the Germans.

Emirates chief Arteta said: "Obviously he's a special player, everything was going through him.

"He was the one that guided everything together and he did it in many different ways in many different areas of the pitch.

"Now things are a bit different. They have some specificity in some movements they make now with different players. I think it's a very different team."

    Arteta is an Ange admirer

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta "really likes" Tottenham counterpart Ange Postecoglou ahead of Sunday's top-four derby.

The Spaniard says Postecoglou has a glowing reputation with past players – and also hailed him for instantly clicking in his first sesason managing in England.

Arteta said: "I really like him. I had players and I know players that had him and they always speak really, really highly of him. That’s not a coincidence.

"You can tell straight away he’s fitting in the right way. That’s the beauty of this league that we have top, top managers."

Declan is a better Gran design

Tim Sherwood has claimed that Declan Rice will be a much better player for Arsenal than Granit Xhaka ever was.

The ex-tottenham player and manager told the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast: “He’s a massive upgrade on Xhaka who was there for Arsenal last season.

“It is a big improvement to the midfield and he has taken to it like a duck to water.

“Declan is one of the players who everyone loves, fans love him, teammates love him and ultimately the manager always loves him.

“He was a legend when he left Arsenal and he will be a legend when he leaves Arsenal.”

    Ex-Arsenal keeper criticises Arteta

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has had his say on Mikel Arteta's decision to drop Aaron Ramsdale.

The Fulham shot-stopper told The Times: "You don’t build a relationship, which takes time.

"As a manager I would never change my goalkeeper, to say, ‘Oh, today I need a goalkeeper good with his feet, or one good at crosses,’ or, ‘Today I need a good shot-stopper because we play against Man City and they will have ten shots or something.’ I would never do that."

Ex-Spurs star picks Arsenal and Tottenham combined XI

Darren Bent has picked ELEVEN Arsenal players in his combined team with Tottenham Hotspur.

During the build-up to the North London Derby, many fans and pundits have picked their combined teams out of the players from each club.

However, Bent has gone a different route, as his combined eleven is made up entirely of Arsenal players despite having played for Tottenham during his career.

The former Prem star went for David Raya in goal and a backline of Oleksandr Zinchenko, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White.

Bent then opted for a midfield trio of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey and an attack of Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.

Gallas gives his North London Derby prediction

Former Arsenal and Tottenham defender William Gallas has given his prediction for this weekend's North London Derby.

He told Genting Casino: "When you look at Tottenham’s squad, they have less experience and quality than Arsenal. Most of these players are new.

"Half of this Tottenham team wouldn’t have played in a north London derby before.

"I expect Tottenham to fight until the end and come into this match with a fantastic desire to do well.

"However, I don’t think Tottenham will have enough to beat Arsenal and I expect Arsenal to win the game."

Fans left devastated after footage of Ramsdale emerges

Dejected Arsenal fans cried "we don't need this" after watching Aaron Ramsdale on his own in training.

A video clip shared online showed the Arsenal goalkeepers walking on to the training pitch ahead of the North London derby.

David Raya, Karl Hein and James Hillson came out together all smiles.

But Ramsdale followed them separately with his head hung low and distinctly less jovial.

It comes after Ramsdale was usurped by loanee Raya as the No1 choice between the sticks for Mikel Arteta.

And sad Arsenal supporters took to Twitter to express their feelings about the video from London Colney and the whole situation.

One said: "We don't need this."

Another wrote: "I can’t take it anymore."

A third added: "Ramsdale huffing at the back because he's been dropped."

Arteta opens up on Ramsdale axe

Mikel Arteta has opened up on his ruthless decision to axe Arsenal No1 Aaron Ramsdale and revealed the feeling it left "in his tummy".

The England international was replaced in the Gunners' last two fixtures by summer signing David Raya.

And Arteta admitted dropping Ramsdale left an uncomfortable feeling "in his tummy", and has yet to decide who will start in the Arsenal goal against Tottenham on Sunday.

The Spaniard said: "It is very difficult with every player. And I suffer and I care about every player who is not playing.

"But this is the competition and this is my job to make decisions in the best possible way for the team.

"In your tummy when you have players sitting out and you have to announce the line-up, it is one of the hardest things."

    Ange more focused on performance

Ange Postecoglou has insisted that he is more concerned about Tottenham's performance against Arsenal than the result.

He said: "We’re five games in, I understand that for many people, they will see this as our first real test and I get that.

"It is pretty easy, you could almost write two stories now: if we are successful, great we’re on the right track. If we’re not, we’ve still got a long way to go.

"For me what is going to be more important is how much of our football I see in a big game like this. How much of us can I see against a top opponent?

"That will give me the biggest indicator of where we’re at but ultimately we’ll still be six games into a new cycle, a new group of players, a very young group of players.

"Either way, irrespective of the outcome, I’d say the performance will be my biggest measure but knowing we have still got a long way to go."
