SEVERAL rival retailers have offered jobs to devastated Wilko staff.

It comes as the future of the discounter hangs in the balance, and 12,500 workers are fearing for their jobs.

Earlier this week the GMB Union claimed the majority of Wilko stores will closeĀ in weeks.

Despite, administrators at PwC, who now control the company, denying this, the future of the chain is still uncertain.

They confirmed talks were still ongoing with potential buyers in a bid to save all or part of the troubled chain, but they did say that there will likely be store closures and job losses.

In several gestures of good will, rival chains including discounters and supermarkets, as well as other sectors have offered job possibilities to distressed staff.

Here is the full list of stores offering jobs:

Of the above, The Works, Hobbycraft and Dunelm have offered guaranteed interviews to all Wilko staff.

Aldi

Most recently, AldiĀ has asked that any workers affected by the collapse ofĀ WilkoĀ to get in touch about jobs.

It said thatĀ AldiĀ has more than 6,000Ā jobsĀ available at the moment across its UK stores.

Aldi is offering various long-termĀ retailĀ roles which include a range of positions from Store Assistant and Caretaker to Store Manager.

Its Store Assistants receive starting pay of Ā£11.40 an hour and those based in London receive Ā£12.85 per hour.

Dunelm

When Wilko first collapsed Dunelm was among the first to offer their assistance to employees.

The discount chain said: "As a fellow retailer, we are very saddened to hear the news about Wilko and are thinking of all the colleagues who have been affected.

"We'd like to offer our immediate support and bring to your attention some fantastic opportunities we are currently offering in our retail, head office and distribution."

It has also agreed a fast-track application process to Wilko workers, guaranteeing all those who apply an opportunity to have an interview.

Team leader roles at Dunelm offer a starting salary of Ā£20,893, while sales assistants earn between Ā£6.72 to Ā£10.80 per hour.

The rates of pay do differ by location but they are listed on each job individual job advert.

The Works

Stationery chain The Works was also quick to offer support to Wilko employees.

In a statement the chain said: "We're genuinely sorry to hear about all the colleagues affected withĀ WilkoĀ right now.

"If we can support anyone, please help them get in touch with us and we'll guarantee an interview if there's a role available.Ā "

Wilko workers are being encouraged to share their CVs with the recruitment team at [email protected].

According to the website the chain has over 140 jobs available at the moment across various roles, although no pay information is listed.

Home Bargains

Writing onĀ LinkedIn,Ā Home BargainsĀ also said: "We are saddened to hear of the news about Wilko and are thinking of all the colleagues who are affected.

"We'd like to offer our support and are currently recruiting across retail, distribution and head office functions."

It urged Wilko worker to "get in touch" or search for available opportunities near you on its careers page jobs.homebargains.co.uk

The discount chain has around 300 jobs available right now in sales, management, warehouse and head office.

Store team members earn up to Ā£11.86 an hour, while team leader jobs can get you as much as Ā£28,000 – although this does depend on the shop location,

Individual rates of pay are listed on each job advert.

Hobbycraft

Hobby Craft has also offered Wilko workers a guaranteed interview too.

The retailer said: "We were sad to hear the Wilko news, and weā€™d love to help anyone affected.

Rates of pay from vary from Ā£10.53 to Ā£10.96 for a store colleague depending on store location.

While rates of pay for a team leader vary from Ā£11.80 to Ā£12.20 depending on store location.
