FROM chunky biker boots to Uggs, many of us have our go-to shoes when it comes to the winter months.
But according to elegance coach Amira Bessette, there are four types of shoe you should never wear in winter if you wish to look elegant.
In the clip posted to TikTok (@amira.bessette), she begins: "The first type are Ugg boots…or as I like to call them, Oompa Loompa shoes.
"I think you can clearly see the design doesn't look very flattering, sophisticated or classy," she explains.
"In fact, they were not made to look elegant.
"Yes, they'll keep you warm but if you wish to dress more in an elegant style, they are not a good option."

Amira then moves on to discuss the second type of shoe she urges people to avoid – Dr Martens.
"I remember I used to wear them back in high school when I was about 15 or 16 because I was not following the elegant style back then," she recalls.

"I was dressing like a typical teenager and they used to be incredibly popular.
"However, if you wish to look more ladylike and classy, this is not the type of shoe I recommend.

"I saw a few outfits where cowboy boots looked elegant.
"On their own, they would not be classified as a classy, elegant item.
"They are not the type of shoe that will elevate your outfit.
"You can throw them into your elegant outfit if you want to dress it down a bit, or if you want to appear a bit more casual.
Last but not least, the fashion guru goes on to slam open toe sandals, which she says she saw "way too often in the UK."
She continues: "Open toe sandals are not appropriate to be worn in winter if you want to dress appropriately according to etiquette – keep them for warmer days."
