WAG confesses: ‘I built an extension to house 200 dresses – my hoarding is out of control’

As a socialite and former WAG, it’s unsurprising Lizzie Cundy’s wardrobe is full to the brim – but the star has admitted her love of fashion became “out of control” that she had to build an extension to house her 200-something dresses.

Lizzie says it wasn’t until she appeared on Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House that she realised she had a problem.

She told OK!: “I didn’t realise how much of a hoarder I was and that I hold onto things, so this actually ended up being one of the most emotional shows I’ve ever done.

“Because of the amount of stuff I had I ended up adding an extra corridor to the side of my house, just for my dresses. You can walk along it. I’m like Imelda Marcos with her shoes – but mine is with dresses!”

Angus Ashworth and his team at Ryedale Auctioneers will help Lizzie decide what to auction off and also discover some hidden gems.

Lizzie, 55, reveals it’s the dress which she wore to Simon Cowell’s charity event, the Together For Short Lives Ball, in March that caught Angus’ eye.

“It’s my favourite dress and really special,” she said. “I was pretty gutted to get rid of it.”

Over the years, Lizzie has hit the headlines for her risqué outfits – but there’s one in particular she regrets.

She said: “Bruno Toniolo told me to pick up a curry takeaway in a see-through dress. I love a dare so I did it, but it’s definitely my biggest fashion regret!”

Now Lizzie hopes to put on a celebrity fashion show to finally get rid of her dresses for good – and she’s hoping her celeb pals will sign up to model some of her greatest treasures.

She said: “I’m going to have all my showbiz buddies modelling the outfits, everyone I know – and I pretty much know everyone! I want it to be a star-studded event”.

Lizzie set tongues wagging earlier this year after hinting she was Prince Harry's “mystery woman with a love of horses”, who he writes about losing his virginity to in his book Spare.

Harry described the encounter as a "humiliating episode with an older woman who liked macho horses and who treated me like a young stallion."

Harry wrote: "I mounted her quickly, after which she spanked my a** and sent me away. One of my many mistakes was letting it happen in a field, just behind a very busy pub. No doubt someone had seen us."

Posting a series of photos of her with horses, both real and mechanic ones, Lizzie wrote: "Got the book ! Who is this mystery woman who has a love of horses …the mind boggles."

Her followers were shocked at the caption, with Vanessa Feltz leading the comments as she penned: "Oh no you didn’t!!!" with a fire emoji.

Luisa Zissman added: "Phahaha you crack me up. Everyone denying it and you’re trying to claim it" with a row of cry laughing emojis.

Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House is on the Really channel (Freeview channel 17), tonight at 9pm.
