Britney Spears introduces new dog Snow to fans
Sabrina the Teenage Witch star Melissa Joan Hart has given some insight into her teary-eyed 1999 photo with Britney Spears.
The 47-year-old Hollywood actress called it the “worst day” of her life.
She detailed what happened behind the scenes of the snap during an appearance on the Pod Meets World podcast.
Hart revealed her decision to pose in Maxim magazine in 1999 almost came with huge consequences, including losing her leading spot on the hit teenage show.

Hart recalled: “My lawyer shows up and goes, ‘You did a photo shoot for Maxim magazine?’ I’m like, ‘Yes, I did.’ They’re like, ‘Well, you’re being sued and fired from your show. So don’t talk to the press. Don’t do anything.’”
Hart said she then got a call from her mother and producer who began questioning her about it.
She replied she did whatever her then-publicist told her to do.
Hart added: “It’s Maxim. Of course, you’re going to be in your underwear.”

After the film finished, Hart was a wreck.
There were tons of people around, but thankfully her dad was there to hug her, despite not usually being “warm and cuddly.”
Hart said she started crying harder because “my daddy’s hugging me,” plus they fired her from the show, her movie, and she’d just broken up with her boyfriend.
At some point during that worst day of her life Hart posed with Spears for a photo.
The Toxic singer was at the premiere because she sang her hit (You Drive Me) Crazy for the film’s soundtrack.
