David Beckham plants a sweet kiss on Harper’s head as the family walk the red carpet at BECKHAM documentary premiere
The Beckham family were out in full force at the premiere for their hotly-anticipated documentary on Tuesday.
And David Beckham planted a sweet kiss on Harper’s head as they walked the red carpet at The Curzon, Mayfair.
The former footballer, 48, wrapped a protective arm around his daughter, 12, while chatting with other premiere attendees and posing for photos.
For many years the Beckhams have sparked widespread discussion over their affections, with David dividing fans by sharing images showing him kissing his daughter – yet he has always remained defiant.
For the event, he cut a dapper figure in a navy suit and brown loafers as he continued to show off his newly shaved buzzcut at the premiere.

David looked every inch the doting father as he wrapped his arm around his daughter Harper and hugged her for the pictures.
In 2017, the sportsman, who is also father to Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, and Cruz, 18, was forced to defend his decision, insisting that he and his wife Victoria are ‘always very affectionate’ towards their brood of four.
The sports star hit back at his critics at the time while taking part in a Facebook Live at the time on his own official page during a trip to Bangkok, where he insisted he kisses all of his children on the lips – aside from his eldest son Brooklyn.
While many had branded previous images of their kissing ‘beautiful’ and a depiction of the ‘close bond’ he has with Harper, David has also been hit with a barrage of negative comments as others claimed the post had been ‘disgusting’.
Baffled by the strong reaction it received, David addressed his photo with Harper and said: ‘I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn maybe not…
‘Brooklyn [was then] 18, so he might find that a little strange, but I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up – and Victoria – and it’s how we are with our children.’
The former England captain continued: ‘We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them and support them.’

The premiere comes as excitement builds for their tell-all Netflix programme, titled BECKHAM, which will arrive on screens at 8am on Wednesday and will see the Beckhams give an unprecedented insight into their family life.
The tell-all Beckham documentary, set for release on Wednesday at 8am, will see the Beckhams’ give an intimate insight into their marriage and early romance, their family life, as well as charting David’s footballing career.
The couple have been married for 24 years since first meeting in 1997 and now share four children.
Now, David and Victoria are set to open up on their much-publicised romance on camera, including the harder parts of their marriage and ‘rumoured infidelity scandals’.
And ahead of the show’s hotly-anticipated release, director Fisher Stevens has told how it was ‘unpleasant’ to ask David and Victoria about their marriage ‘difficulties’.
Speaking to The Sunday Times, Fisher said: ‘It wasn’t pleasant, but we got into it.’
‘For me, I approached it as, “How did your marriage stay together?” and you’ll see how he responds,’ he went on.
‘I talked with both of them about the difficulties they went through.’
Producer John Battsek added: ‘They were both signed up to telling us whatever we wanted to know. I’m sure you’ll say, “Of course you would say that.” But they were. There was no, “You will not ask that or do that.”
‘Fisher and I thought that might be the case, but we were clear from the start that we would only do this if we could go in any direction we wanted. And we did.’
A teaser clip for the Beckham documentary has shown Victoria and David lifting the lid on their first attraction to one another.
The pair met at a charity football match in 1997 and have now given an insight into that first meeting and what they thought of each other.
Showing off her relaxed side while sitting on a sofa in the clip, Victoria said: ‘The fact I went to the games really was to – some might say I stalked him, I would say see him.’
Victoria admitted that when she saw David after a match by the bar in the Manchester United players’ lounge, he caught her eye because he was with his parents and clearly a family man.
She said: ‘When I saw him in the footballers’ lounge, all the other footballers were at the bar, and he was standing and talking to his parents, and I’m very close to my family, and I loved that side to him.’
Giving his side of the story, David simply said of their first meeting: ‘I just fancied her.’

‘I just fancied her’: The pair met at a charity football match in 1997 and have now given an insight into that first meeting and what they thought of each other
While Victoria gushed: ‘I just fancied him, it was as simple as that.’
It proved to be love at first sight for the couple, who went on to tie the knot at a castle outside Dublin just two years later in 1999.
They now share four children – sons Brooklyn, 24, Romeo, 21, Cruz, 18, and a daughter Harper, 12 – and are as loved up as ever after 24 years of marriage.
However, their romance wasn’t always plain-sailing as David’s mother Sandra told how she feared her son would ‘lose everything’ when he started dating Victoria.
In the upcoming documentary, Sandra confessed she was worried David would get side-tracked from his career at Manchester United when Spice Girl Victoria came on the scene.
She said: ‘We’d were worried he would lose everything he worked for because football had always come first and then all of a sudden it wasn’t.’
But, David and Victoria instead became a brand where they gained lucrative contracts with clothing designers, health and fitness specialists, fashion magazines, and perfume and cosmetics manufacturers.
Despite now being a power couple, at the start of her relationship with David, Victoria said she was told by her manager at the time to ‘keep it under wraps’.

She said: ‘We would meet in car parks and that’s not as seedy as it sounds.’
Adding to her comment, David joked: ‘Classy!’
Victoria also opened up at being at the centre of the ‘circus’ – with shocking footage showing one of their children crying as fans pound on their car as they drive past.
In the clip David – who drove as Victoria sat in the back – said: ‘It’s all right Buster. They can’t get in the car.’
Looking back on the period, Victoria added: ‘It’s entertaining when the circus comes to town, right? Unless you’re in it.’
Elsewhere, David appeared to have a conflicting opinion to his former Man United manager Alex Ferguson, as he told how his fame catapulted due to the interest into his relationship with Victoria: ‘It definitely didn’t change me.’
But Alex, 81, then said: ‘Well he changed. There’s no doubt about that.’
An emotional David Beckham also said he didn’t ‘sleep’ or ‘eat’ after he was blamed for England’s World Cup 1998 exit as he retold the story in the Netflix documentary.
The football star was sent off against Argentina after kicking the back of Diego Simeone’s leg, lashing out at the Argentina captain after he had shoved him to the ground.

‘I wasn’t eating. I wasn’t sleeping. It took a toll on me that I never even knew myself.’
The documentary promises the show the former England international’s rise from ‘humble working-class beginnings’ up to his glamorous days at Manchester United, Real Madrid and beyond.
Further clips show heartwarming home video of their children and wedding day, alongside resurfaced interviews with the star in his prime.
From the trailer alone, it seems a large portion will be focused on David’s relationships both off and on the pitch.
After England’s round of 16 stage defeat, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid winger then had to watch on as England went on to lose the match on penalties.
The footballer was constantly booed and jeered by fans of opposition clubs for the majority of the following 1998-99 season, with a burning effigy of him and death threats among the worst of the backlash to his red card.
David also touched on the famous dressing room incident between himself and Sir Alex Ferguson, where the United coach supposedly kicked a boot at the England star.
He appeared to admit that he ‘went at’ his manager after the incident as he discussed the furore with an interviewer.

Netflix says ‘the series takes you on that rollercoaster and builds a surprising, personal and definitive story of one of the most recognisable and scrutinised athletes of all time’.
This includes David’s relationship with his wife Victoria – as they trace their family life through his career.
Since retiring from the sport, David has taken on a number of ambitions, such as his ownership role with MLS side Inter Miami.
Earlier this summer, the club secured one of the most startling transfers in football history as Beckham managed to convince Lionel Messi to join the club.
BECKHAM is available to stream on Netflix on October 4 from 8am.
