After quickly amassing a fan following, it moved to BBC One from series three onwards.<\/p>\n Each episode sees the experts tasked with fixing old, broken, or damaged family heirlooms and treasures.<\/p>\n And they have seen items from practically every decade. When asked what the oldest item was that the team of experts had restored, Jay admitted: \u201cI think the oldest object was one that Kirsten worked on, that was about 1000 years old.<\/p>\n “It was a terracotta figure, that fans may remember from a previous episode.”<\/p>\n Jay also shared a behind-the-scenes secret with viewers, as he revealed that The Repair Shop \u201cfamily\u201d will go outside, especially during the summer months, to \u201cplay rounders together.\u201d<\/p>\n The furniture restorer and presenter previously told The Guardian that as they \u201cspend nine months a year filming, all staying in the same hotel and having meals together,\u201d this is why they view one another as family.<\/p>\n
