BBC BREAKFAST today had ahuge shake up, with a regular presenter missing from the show.

Usually on a Saturday morning, viewers are greeted with Naga Munchetty, 48, and Charlie Stayt, 61.

The pair always co-host BBC Breakfast together from Thursday to Sunday.

However, fans tuning in this morning got a surprise when Charlie was missing from the famous red sofa.

Instead stand-in host Ben Thompson was co-hosting alongside Naga.

Although it's not known why Charlie is missing from the show today, Ben often steps in when he is off.

Meanwhile, Charlie's absence comes after he had an embarrassing blunder with co-host Naga yesterday.

The BBC Breakfast star got flustered after mispronouncing a famous rock band name.

On Friday morning, Naga and Charlie Stayt welcomed Manic Street Preachers' Nicky Wire and Suede's Brett Anderson to the BBC Breakfast big red sofa to discuss their upcoming headline shows.

While chatting to the rock artists and concluding the interview, Naga stumbled over her words and said: "It's been brilliant, Nicky, Brett, thank you and good luck."

She turned to the cameras and continued: "Suede – wait, swede, oh I don't know how to say it now…"

Charlie then laughed as she held her head in her hands and repeated: "I don't know how to say it!"

He turned to the singers while still chuckling and commented: "Swede!"

An embarrassed Naga also laughed it off and added: "I've just called you a Swede," while chucking her pen onto the table.

She quickly gathered herself together and finalised: "Suede and Manic Street Preachers tour starts next tour – other vegetables are available."

Before the unexpected blunder happened, the two artists explained their plans for their joint tour to the hosts.

Charlie pointed out: "People had sides, didn't they?"

"They were Blur or Oasis, there was all those things going on.

"Do you look out in the crowd and maybe see the people who are there for you or those who want to see Manic Street Preachers?

"Or is all that long gone, and it's just for the music."

Nicky replied: "I think we've both got a really dedicated fan base, but there is a cross-pollination.

"We kind of share some of the same gene pool, you know, we were always just on the outside and on the periphery."

Brett agreed and replied: "There is a kind of core of people that like both bands.

"There's something that the Manics and Suade have in common.

Nicky then joked: "We weren't part of Brit Pop, we were always on the outside, and we both started a bit early too – and we just looked better than everyone else back then anyway."

He then spoke about "an epic tour across Europe" and how his band were gearing up for their next one.

Brett explained: "I've watched the Manics every night, and it's always really inspiring.

He concluded: "It's a kind of friendly competition."

BBC Breakfast airs weekends from 7am on BBC One.

</picture>gifted girls
