From making a DIY Big Mac for half the price to getting freebies and discounts on your birthday, there's plenty of ways to\u00a0save cash.<\/p>\n

The tips will come in handy for hungry diners battling against a cost of living crisis, which has seen Maccies raise prices.<\/p>\n

For example in March, its black and white coffee drinks have gone up by 20p from today – from 99p to \u00a31.19.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0fast-food chain's\u00a0Mayo Chicken burger rose from 99p to \u00a31.19, a 20% increase.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, its Bacon Double Cheeseburger became 8% more expensive as it will rise from \u00a32.49 to \u00a32.69.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Our research found a Big Mac meal can be up to 30p cheaper at restaurants that are just two miles apart from each other.<\/p>\n

A 30p saving may not sound massive but it would equal \u00a31.20 per month if you treat yourself to a McDonald's each week or \u00a314.40 per year.<\/p>\n

A couple could double the savings to \u00a328.80 in a year while a family of four could save \u00a357.60 on a Big Mac meal each week for a year just by looking slightly further afield.<\/p>\n

Get freebies on your birthday<\/h2>\n

You can bag freebies and discounts on your birthday if you're a My McDonald's app user.<\/p>\n

Signing up to the My McDonald's app also means that you can\u00a0keep on top of the latest deals and offers.<\/p>\n

Remember to log your date of birth in the app – otherwise, you could miss out on free food or drinks.<\/p>\n

The birthday offers are usually in line with the McDonald\u2019s Mondays offers, discounts and deals.<\/p>\n

The chain said you could get a free coffee too if it was your birthday.<\/p>\n

Get Big Mac and fries for just \u00a31.99<\/h2>\n

If you're a Big Mac fan, you can get the burger along with a side of fries\u00a0for just \u00a31.99.<\/p>\n

Hungry\u00a0customers\u00a0just have to fill out a quick feedback survey to get the\u00a0discount.<\/p>\n

All you need is an old McDonald's\u00a0receipt\u00a0from a previous trip no longer than 60 days ago.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A 12 digit code will be printed on the proof of purchase, and you can enter this McDonald's\u00a0Food for Thought\u00a0website to\u00a0need to fill out a quick survey regarding your recent trip.<\/p>\n

You'll then receive a five-digit code which is your voucher for the \u00a31.99 offer, so jot it down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

You can then use this five digit code to get a Big Mac and fries for \u00a31.99.<\/p>\n

It usually costs wound \u00a34.79 so you'll be saving around \u00a32.80 under the offer.<\/p>\n

Get half-price meals<\/h2>\n

If you live in London,\u00a0keep hold of your bus tickets.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, McDonald's vouchers are printed on the back where you can get deals and discounts.<\/p>\n

If you keep them safe, you'll be able to use them the next time you visit the chain – make sure you keep an eye out for the voucher expiry dates.<\/p>\n

Avoid ordering meals and bulk up instead<\/h2>\n

If you're a fan of the nugs, then avoid choosing a meal and bulk order instead if you're with company.<\/p>\n

Meal deals come with your choice of main snack – like a burger or chicken nuggets – along with fries and a drink.<\/p>\n

But sometimes it makes more sense to\u00a0bulk buy items individually\u00a0and split them between the family,\u00a0one ex-McDonald's worker told The Sun.<\/p>\n

For example, a medium meal with six Chicken McNuggets costs \u00a36.09. If you've got three mouths to feed, that comes out at \u00a318.27.<\/p>\n

But if you bought 20 Chicken McNuggets for \u00a35.79 – each person gets six each with two left over.<\/p>\n

Make a DIY Big Mac for half the price<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A Big Mac can\u00a0cost as much as \u00a34.59.<\/p>\n

If you make a few tweaks to your order, you can make your own for half the price.<\/p>\n

Jordan Cox, dubbed Britain\u2019s Coupon Kid,\u00a0previously told The Sun\u00a0how to get a\u00a0DIY Big Mac for just \u00a31.49.<\/p>\n

Order a Double Cheeseburger and add in the items you get in a Big Mac, which includes onions, pickles and shredded lettuce.<\/p>\n

McDonald's won't let you buy Big Mac sauce to pop inside, Jordon says, but if you add ketchup and mustard, you'll create a sauce that tastes similar.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don\u2019t have the bun in the middle, but it sort of tastes like a Big Mac in terms of what\u2019s inside,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cYou\u2019ll save about \u00a32.\u201d<\/p>\n

Signing up to the My McDonald's app means you can\u00a0keep on top of the latest deals and offers.<\/p>\n

The app will allow you to browse the latest menu available at McDonald's – you can download it for free via Google Play or the App Store.<\/p>\n

Every Monday, the app has a host of deals available to cash in on.<\/p>\n
