A DOG owner is facing jail after his American bully savaged a police horse in a brutal park attack.<\/p>\n

Shocking footage showed two officers screaming for help as the raging animal plunged its teeth<\/span> into PH Urbane.<\/p>\n

Horrified onlookers watched as the horse buckled to the ground as the dog, named Coco, bit its leg in the five-minute attack.<\/p>\n

Owner Hakan Niyazi Candermir has now admitted being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old is facing a maximum of six months in jail when he is sentenced on a date yet to be set.<\/p>\n

Candermir had been walking the dog in London's Victoria Park where the Met officers were on patrol on their horses.<\/p>\n

He was seen watching calmly as the out-of-control dog began lunging at PH Urbane during the horror<\/span> in March.<\/p>\n

One person could be heard saying "this is so bad" as Coco repeatedly jumped up at the horses.<\/p>\n

A hero bystander rushed in with a stick to batter the dog away as the mounted officers screamed: "Get hold of the dog".<\/p>\n

Candermir eventually wrestled the dog back on its lead where it was seized by police. There has been no update on what happened to Coco.<\/p>\n

PH Urbane needed stitches following the attack, with the Met releasing grisly images of the horse's injuries.<\/p>\n

He had suffered eight lacerations from dog bites with wounds to historso and legs.<\/p>\n

The animal returned to work in June with a video showing him being led from a horse box ready for patrol.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Martin Kirby, from the Met\u2019s Taskforce, said: \u201cThis very shocking event could have been easily avoided if the dog was being responsibly looked after and was on a lead.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, Urbane was bitten by an out of control dog, receiving nasty injuries including tears and lacerations, while carrying out his duty.<\/p>\n

Urbane had to take several months off duty to recover from his injuries but thankfully he\u2019s now fully recovered and back patrolling the streets of London.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is generally very comfortable around dogs and we were particularly worried that this attack would affect the way he interacts with other animals. Happily, he\u2019s just as relaxed with dogs as he\u2019s always been.\u201d<\/p>\n
