Sarah Ferguson looked elegant as she took to the stage of a festival in New York earlier today.<\/p>\n
The Duchess of York, 62, was typically stylish in a colourful scarf and bright green blouse as she attended the Global Citizens Now event in the Big Apple today.<\/p>\n
The royal mother-of-two wore her red locks long and loose for the event, opting for an elegant makeup look for the occasion.<\/p>\n
The two day event brings together a number of celebrities and experts to give talks on different topics.<\/p>\n
Fergie is far from the first royal to be associated with the event – in fact, last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke at the Live summit in Central Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It comes amidst a busy week for the Duchess, who\u00a0looked typically stylish as she opted for a sleek black dress with a butterfly pattern on Sunday as she posed with actress\u00a0Kristin Davis at a charity gala in Sweden.<\/p>\n

She was joined by\u00a0Kristin Davis, who is best known for playing Charlotte in Sex and the City and it’s spin-off And Just Like That.<\/p>\n
Wearing a bright pink floor length gown, the actress presented an award at the Gothenburg-based\u00a0\u00a0non-profit nature conservation organisation.<\/p>\n
She later took to Instagram to thank the Duchess for ‘being so kind’.<\/p>\n
It comes after Fergie paid a sweet tribute to the late Queen on the first anniversary of her death.<\/p>\n
The Duchess of York described her former mother-in-law as a ‘wonderful friend, mentor and a second mother’ in a touching Instagram post.<\/p>\n
Sarah, who was married to the Queen’s ‘favourite son’ Prince Andrew for 10 years, shared a sweet photo of the late monarch in her youth.<\/p>\n
‘You were a wonderful friend, a mentor, a second mother to me and grandmother to my daughters who share so much of your courage and heart.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Paying tribute to her former mother-in-law last year following her death, she praised the Queen as a ‘fantastic example of duty and service and steadfastness.’<\/span><\/p>\n On a personal note, she thanked the Queen for being ‘the most incredible mother-in-law and friend’, adding: ‘I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me in remaining close to me even after my divorce.’<\/p>\n Sarah Ferguson continues to live at the Royal Lodge in Windsor with her estranged husband Prince Andrew.\u00a0<\/p>\n Following news of the Queen’s death, Fergie wrote: ‘I am heartbroken by the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy: the most fantastic example of duty and service and steadfastness, and a constant steadying presence as our head of state for more than 70 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n ‘She has given her whole life selflessly to the people of the UK and the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n ‘To me, she was the most incredible mother-in-law and friend.
