Duchess poses in a colourful scarf as she speaks at festival in the Big Apple<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sarah Ferguson, 62, looked typically stylish in a green blouse and colourful scarf<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>READ MORE:\u00a0\u00a0Is this the best Camilla has ever looked?\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sarah Ferguson looked elegant as she took to the stage of a festival in New York earlier today.<\/p>\n<p>The Duchess of York, 62, was typically stylish in a colourful scarf and bright green blouse as she attended the Global Citizens Now event in the Big Apple today.<\/p>\n<p>The royal mother-of-two wore her red locks long and loose for the event, opting for an elegant makeup look for the occasion.<\/p>\n<p>The two day event brings together a number of celebrities and experts to give talks on different topics.<\/p>\n<p>Fergie is far from the first royal to be associated with the event &#8211; in fact, last year, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle spoke at the Live summit in Central Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/17\/75693211-12545865-image-m-101_1695313565111.jpg\" height=\"895\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>Sarah Ferguson, 62, looked elegant as she took to the stage of a festival in New York earlier today<\/p>\n<p>It comes amidst a busy week for the Duchess, who\u00a0looked typically stylish as she opted for a sleek black dress with a butterfly pattern on Sunday as she posed with actress\u00a0Kristin Davis at a charity gala in Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0at the Perfect World Foundation event in Gothenburg.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She was joined by\u00a0Kristin Davis, who is best known for playing Charlotte in Sex and the City and it&#8217;s spin-off And Just Like That.<\/p>\n<p>Wearing a bright pink floor length gown, the actress presented an award at the Gothenburg-based\u00a0\u00a0non-profit nature conservation organisation.<\/p>\n<p>She later took to Instagram to thank the Duchess for &#8216;being so kind&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>It comes after Fergie paid a sweet tribute to the late Queen on the first anniversary of her death.<\/p>\n<p>The Duchess of York described her former mother-in-law as a &#8216;wonderful friend, mentor and a second mother&#8217; in a touching Instagram post.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah, who was married to the Queen&#8217;s &#8216;favourite son&#8217; Prince Andrew for 10 years, shared a sweet photo of the late monarch in her youth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You were a wonderful friend, a mentor, a second mother to me and grandmother to my daughters who share so much of your courage and heart.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/1s\/2023\/09\/21\/17\/75693209-12545865-image-m-103_1695313607796.jpg\" height=\"490\" width=\"634\"><\/p>\n<p>The Duchess of York, 62, was typically stylish in a colourful scarf and bright green blouse as she attended the Global Citizens Now event in the Big Apple today<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;You will always be loved and missed by our family and our nation,&#8217; she wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah, who goes by Fergie, often talks about her closeness to the Queen.<\/p>\n<p>Paying tribute to her former mother-in-law last year following her death, she praised <span>the Queen as a &#8216;fantastic example of duty and service and steadfastness.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On a personal note, she thanked the Queen for being &#8216;the most incredible mother-in-law and friend&#8217;, adding: &#8216;I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me in remaining close to me even after my divorce.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Ferguson continues to live at the Royal Lodge in Windsor with her estranged husband Prince Andrew.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Following news of the Queen&#8217;s death, Fergie wrote: &#8216;I am heartbroken by the passing of Her Majesty the Queen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;She leaves behind an extraordinary legacy: the most fantastic example of duty and service and steadfastness, and a constant steadying presence as our head of state for more than 70 years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;She has given her whole life selflessly to the people of the UK and the Commonwealth.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;To me, she was the most incredible mother-in-law and friend. I will always be grateful to her for the generosity she showed me in remaining close to me even after my divorce.
