I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! bosses reportedly want Fred Sirieix for the upcoming series.

The First Dates Maître d', 51, is allegedly in talks to star on the hit ITV programme, despite previously admitting that he couldn't handle the gruelling bushtucker trials.

But ITV bosses are hoping to look past that as they believe he will be a "hit with the ladies".

"Show bosses hope he’ll be a hit with the ladies watching, which is part of the reason they’ve targeted him," a source told The Sun.

“Everyone’s really excited that they’re close to signing him up.

In an interview with Hello! last year, the tv star confessed it was the trials that put him off from taking part in the series.

He told the publication: "I don't think I'd do I'm A Celebrity, I wouldn't be too keen on eating a camel's anus or something like that.

"I know I eat frogs, I'm French, but at least those frogs are cooked!"

The TV foodie added: "They are deliciously prepared, whereas a camel's anus is put in a blender and you have to eat it raw.

"It's awful. I know people who have been there – it's really not 'gastronomie'."

It comes after it was reported that Gordon Ramsay had quit filming his travel series with Fred and Gino D'Acampo.
