Nicolas Cage announced he might soon retire from the silver screen ahead of his 60th birthday next month, but he wants ‘to say bye on a high note.’

‘It’s starting to solidify. I’m starting to cement my plan,’ the Oscar winner told Vanity Fair on Monday.

‘I may have three or four more movies left in me.’

Nicolas (born Nicholas Coppola) added: ‘I do feel I’ve said what I’ve had to say with cinema. I think I took film performance as far as I could.’

Cage realizes he might only have ‘a good 15 years’ left considering his father August Coppola died, age 75, in 2009 after suffering a heart attack.

‘What do I want to do with those 15 years, using my father as the model?’ The Retirement Plan actor wondered aloud.

‘It occurred very clearly to me that I want to spend time with my family.’

Indeed, Nicolas has a 15-month-old daughter August Francesca from his two-year marriage to fifth wife Riko Shibata, who’s 31 years his junior.

Cage and his Snake Eyes castmate Christina Fulton will next celebrate their eldest son Weston’s 33rd birthday on December 26.

The Long Beach native is also father to 18-year-old son Kal-El from his 12-year marriage to ex-wife #3 Alice Kim, which ended in 2016.

Nicolas – who ‘commands $4M a picture’ – recently spent six weeks Down Under filming his role as territorial Australian surfer in Lorcan Finnegan’s elevated psychological thriller The Surfer.

In February, Cage wrapped his role as farmer and father-of-twins Paul in Ben Brewer’s dystopian monster thriller Arcadian, which he also produced.

Next March, the Sympathy for the Devil producer-star will head to Morocco to reprise his role as international arms dealer Yuri Orlov opposite Bill Skarsgård in Andrew Niccol’s father-son sequel Lords of War – according to Variety.

The 2005 crime drama Lord of War – starring Jared Leto, Bridget Moynahan, and Ethan Hawke – amassed $72.6M at the global box office and received a 62% critic approval rating (out of 150 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.

But it’s unclear if Nicolas still plans on co-producing and starring in Osgood Perkins’ psychological thriller Longlegs, which Deadline reported a year ago.

Audiences can currently catch Cage as biology professor Paul Matthews in Kristoffer Borgli’s surreal film Dream Scenario, which has earned $4.6M at the global box office since opening November 10.

The critically-acclaimed black comedy – produced by Beau Is Afraid filmmaker Ari Aster – also features Tim Meadows, Michael Cera, Julianne Nicholson, and Dylan Baker.

There is still one unchartered territory for the SAG Award winner – television – which he has surprisingly avoided aside from hosting Netflix’s History of Swear Words.

‘Maybe it’s time to look at the immersive streaming experience. I don’t know. I have to look for the next step and I haven’t found it yet,’ Nicolas noted.

‘I do want to get much more severe and stringent in my selection process, but I want to look ahead. I want to see what’s next.’
