The pair missed out on the quarter-finals when the judges chose to save Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin in the dance off.<\/p>\n

Angela, an Irish TV presenter and mum of two little girls, said: \u201cIt\u2019s been honestly incredible, I\u2019m gutted, really gutted that it\u2019s finished now, but it has been the most wonderful experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have made the best friend in this man. We have had so much fun, he is such an incredible guy. He has supported me and picked me up and made me laugh so much.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carlos, 29 \u2013 the Chinese national dance champion \u2013 said Angela, 39, had worked \u201cso hard\u201d and added: \u201cLook at her now \u2013 I am so proud, her sense of humour and we had so much fun every day. She cracks me up laughing.\u201d The pair, who were last on Saturday\u2019s leaderboard, had to reperform their dance to Gloria Gaynor\u2019s I Will Survive.<\/p>\n

Layton and Nikita, who were fourth out of six before the public vote, did an American Smooth to Bjork\u2019s It\u2019s Oh So Quiet. Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke voted to save them but Shirley Ballas said: \u201cImportant for me always is the character of the dance, that it\u2019s true to the dance…and I would have voted for Angela and Carlos.\u201d<\/p>\n

The quarter-final, which is musicals week, will be on BBC One this Saturday at 7.25pm.<\/p>\n
