<\/p>\nAN ALDI shopper has left people stunned after revealing what the shelf by the tills is actually for. <\/p>\n
The man – aka Tubz – explained that regularly shops at the discount supermarket, and has mastered the art of dealing with the lightning-fast checkout process. <\/p>\n

"For those of you who don't understand how it works for Aldi, and why the checkout operator goes really fast," he began the video on his TikTok page.<\/p>\n
He then showed himself putting all the items straight in the trolley immediately after the cashier scanned them through. <\/p>\n
Once all the items were in the trolley, he paid and made his way "over to the packing shelf". <\/p>\n
He then put all his purchases into bags while standing at the shelf. <\/p>\n
"It means you get out of the way quicker for the other customers and then out of the door," he added. <\/p>\n Tubz captioned the video with hashtags including #howitworks and #packing.<\/p>\n "You can pack properly at the packing shelves and not rush which is what they are for," he added in a comment on the video. <\/p>\n But people in the comments section were divided as to whether or not the packing shelf was a good idea. <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n "Thank you, finally someone gets it!" one wrote. <\/p>\n "People so selfish packing at till, they don't get it."<\/p>\n "It drives me mad when people don't use the packing shelf," another added. <\/p>\n "Yes!! And I feel much less pressure at the packing area with 2 little kids," a third commented. <\/p>\n "Instead of worrying that I\u2019m holding up the whole queue."<\/p>\n "Also means they can keep prices down as they don\u2019t have to hire as many staff as customers are getting through the tills quicker," someone else wrote. <\/p>\n "Nobody does this in my local Aldi, I\u2019m the usually the only one at the packing shelf," another added. <\/p>\n "They all pack into bags in the trolley so it\u2019s always so slow."<\/p>\n "I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT THAT SHELF WAS FOR!" someone else marvelled. <\/p>\n "Literally!!!" another said. <\/p>\n "I don\u2019t mind it if there\u2019s no queue but when it\u2019s a busy Sunday it infuriates me because they know there\u2019s a bench to pack with."<\/p>\n But not everyone was sure that it was a good idea, with many deeming it a waste of time. <\/p>\n "Packing shelf?!" one wrote. <\/p>\n "Sod that!<\/p>\n "Open bags in trolley and pack as they scan."<\/p>\n "No way," another insisted. <\/p>\n "Open up your bags ready in the trolley and throw them in.<\/p>\n "I have not got the time or energy to do it twice."<\/p>\n "One of the many reasons I don\u2019t shop at Aldi, I don\u2019t like that kind of pressure," a third commented. <\/p>\n "I\u2019m not there to get other people seen quicker, once I\u2019m done I\u2019ll leave," someone else wrote. <\/p>\n "I\u2019m not putting it in the trolley, then on the belt, back in trolley, out again to pack it and the unpack at home!" another sighed. <\/p>\n "No thanks!"<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/ri-comp-vodka.jpg\")
