YOUTUBER Nella Rose was embroiled in a shocking race row just a few years ago.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old, who is taking part in this series of I\u2019m A Celebrity, was forced to apologise after a series of offensive tweets were unearthed.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

The hurtful colourist messages were posted between 2012 and 2016, starting when she was around 12 years old.<\/p>\n

Nella, who has \u00a0a million followers on\u00a0TikTok, almost 800,000 subscribers to her\u00a0YouTube\u00a0channel and 892,000 on\u00a0Instagram, apologised for her comments in 2020.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy video she described herself as being \u2018anti-black\u2019 at the time and admitted that she \u2018hated being black and African\u2019 while at school. <\/p>\n

She said: \u201cI cannot explain how sorry I am for those tweets. Borderline those tweets were terrible, I\u2019m not going to lie to you.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey were terrible but I\u2019m not going to come on here and be like \u2018I was 12, I was 13, I was immature, I was the product of my environment\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo wrongs don\u2019t make a right. I was foul mouthed. I was rude. I was dead wrong. I was ignorant, I\u2019m not going to lie. I was anti-black and it\u2019s weird to say because obviously I\u2019m black but I was anti-black.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nella continued: \u201cWhen I was growing up, living in London, it\u2019s not that I hated being black, but I hated being African. When you\u2019re in year seven, year eight and stuff like that, Africans were always getting cussed.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople were getting cussed for having big lips, I was getting cussed for my nose and having picky hair. I was so ashamed of being African that when it came to bringing packed lunch in, I didn\u2019t want to because I was scared that I would stink up the place.<\/p>\n

\u201cI genuinely sat there and believed by cussing Somalian people, I would turn the attention of what people were saying about me.\u00a0I don\u2019t even know how I thought that was acceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sun revealed last week that Nella is taking part in I\u2019m A Celebrity and she has already arrived in Australia to take part.<\/p>\n

As well as being huge on social media, Nella \u2013 who is originally from Belgium \u2013 has hosted MTV\u2019s Catfish UK.<\/p>\n
