<\/p>\nTRIBUTES have been paid to a "much-loved" Scottish teenager who died after falling from a hotel balcony while on holiday.<\/p>\n
David Alexander, 18, died after the tragic incident at the Galeon Playa Apart-Hotel on Lanzarote.<\/p>\n
\n<\/p>\n
It is believed the teen was on holiday with his parents when the tragedy unfolded.<\/p>\n
Cops probing the tragedy have told how David's death is being treated as an accident.<\/p>\n
Heartbroken friends and family have now paid tribute to the young college student who was "much-loved and respected".<\/p>\n
Jim McLaren, the head of Clydebank social inclusion charity Golden Friendships shared his tribute to the young Scot, saying he was a "very popular young man".<\/p>\n
He posted to the charity's social media: "Sadly David lost his life in a tragic accident this week in Lanzarote. <\/p>\n
"David was a very popular young man who loved being part of our club. <\/p>\n
"His aunt Angela told me it was like a second home to him and brought him great friendship and happiness.<\/p>\n
"On behalf of Golden Friendships we would like to offer our condolences to David's family at this sad time."<\/p>\n
<\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n David's former school also joined those paying tribute to him.<\/p>\n Vale of Leven Academy Headteacher Matthew Boyle told the Daily Record: "We are all very shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic and untimely death of our former student.<\/p>\n "David was a much-loved and respected School Base Champion Award 2021 winner, who was popular with his peers and all of our teachers and support staff.<\/p>\n "David\u2019s family and friends are very much in our thoughts at this very difficult time."<\/p>\n The teen had just started his game development course at the City of Glasgow College.<\/p>\n Golden Friendships bosses have announced they will be raising cash for David's family by raffling off signed football tops.<\/p>\n An autographed Chris Sutton Celtic strip and Mark Hatley Rangers top are in the raffle.<\/p>\n Mr McLaren said: "A lot of our members at Golden Friendships want to do something to raise money for young David's family as a way of trying to help after his tragic accident while on holiday.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/TM-comp-Friends.jpg\")
