BLUETONES music star Scott Morriss was one of the biggest stars of the 90s thanks to the group's success.

These days the bass player has a very different job – and lives out in Japan with his family.

Scott, 50, was a founding member of the English indie rock band The Bluetones in 1993, alongside his older brother Mark who was the frontman.

In the UK charts the group scored 13 top 40 singles and three top ten albums.

Their debut album titled Expecting to Fly reached the coveted number one spot and has since been certified Platinum.

Although the group did not match the success with any of their other albums, their third outing Science & Nature reached number seven.

The band was active between 1993 and 2011 but we reported the group are going back on the road.

But decades later, the star works as an animator in Tokyo, Japan with his wife and their daughter.

On his official website, the star wrote: "I had always held a keen interest in animation since childhood but it wasn’t until my mid-thirties that I decided it was something I wanted to do for a living.

He has so far had a successful career in the art as he had worked on children's programmes and educational shows.

Projects include a credit as the Lead Animator on two seasons of the award winning Sky Kids programme, The Brilliant World of Tom Gates.
