Who is Marcello Molinari?

Marcello Molinari was arrested earlier this week in connection to the murder of his wife, 38-year-old Melissa Molinari.

The mother of four was last seen on November 21 and did not return to spend Thanksgiving with her children, which was uncharacteristic of her, according to her friend.

She and her husband resided in Centereach, Long Island but a background check showed the couple previously lived in California.

Marcello Molinari appears to have moved around and has 13 previous addresses connected to his name – nine of which were in California.

Records show Marcello Molinari acquired a Rhode Island address in June 2021 which is not connected to Melissa Molinari.

When was he arrested?

Marcello Molinari was arrested earlier this week after Melissa Molinari’s body was found on Thursday in the Rocky Point Barrens State Forest off Currans Road in Middle Island.

Police reports indicate they received a call on December 2 to report Melissa Molinari as missing, but it wasn’t Marcello Molinari who made the call.

Melissa Molinari’s friend was the one to report her missing, 11 days after she disappeared from her home.

Melissa and Marcello Molinari’s neighbor told NBC New York, "I find it very surprising she didn't take that car, she was in it all the time.

"That's what I'm shocked about, that she would leave the kids because she was so hands-on…it's just weird. Got to be so hard."

Police initially said Marcello Molinari was cooperating with the investigation, but he was later arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

His arraignment is scheduled for Friday, December 10.

Was Gabby Petito’s dad involved in the investigation?

The father of Gabby Petito, Joseph, pleaded to his followers to help find Melissa Molinari who was last seen at her Centereach home.

Joseph Petito’s daughter received global attention when she went missing while on a road trip with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie. Her remains were subsequently found weeks later.

Her father and mother, Nicole, pledged to bring attention to other missing women and on December 5, Joseph Petito posted information about Melissa Molinari to Twitter, asking for help.

He provided Melissa Molinari’s information and directed anyone with information to contact the Sixth Squad at 631 852 8652 or call 911.
