Michelle Obama sympathizes with viewers ‘turned off’ by Trump-Biden debate

Michelle Obama feels your debate pain.

The former first lady said she sympathizes with voters who may have been “turned off” by the chaotic first presidential debate between President Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden — but she is urging Americans to “turn those feelings into action.”

“It’s the only way we can get out of this chaos and restore some stability to this country. You can start by reaching out to everyone you know. Make sure they’re registered. Make sure they know how and when they’re going to vote,” Obama told her 17 million followers on Twitter and 42 million followers on Instagram.

The debate in Cleveland on Tuesday has been referred to as a “dumpster fire” and a “s—storm” after the two candidates talked over each other in a maddening cacophony as Fox News host Chris Wallace struggled to maintain control.

The presidential debate commission is now even considering giving the moderator the opportunity to cut a candidate’s mic at the next matchup between Trump and Biden on Oct. 15 in Miami.

“Last night’s debate made clear that additional structure should be added to the format of the remaining debates to ensure a more orderly discussion of the issues,” the commission said.
