MADELEINE McCann's parents have raised more than £750,000 to continue the hunt for their missing daughter if Scotland Yard ever stops looking for her.
Newly released accounts of the fund, named Madeleine's Fund: Leaving No Stone Unturned Ltd, show that Gerry and Kate McCann have raised £773,629.
Financial documents state that the cash will be used to secure the safe return of Madeleine to her family and to ensure "her abduction is thoroughly investigated", the Daily Star reports.
The fund will also be used to ensure the culprits are identified and are brought to justice.
Once that objective has been fulfilled, any money that remains will be donated to help solve similar missing person cases.
Met Police have told the McCanns that they are continuing to treat Madeleine as a missing person.
British detectives are said to have told the couple that they think it is "highly unlikely Christian Brueckner will be charged over Madeleine's disappearance as there is no evidence" linking him to it.
If the police enquiry comes to nothing the McCanns have their cash reserve to continue the search for their daughter.
The McCanns, from Rothley, Leicestershire, haven't given up hope almost 14 years after Madeleine disappeared in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz on May 3, 2007.
A friend of the family told the Daily Star: "Kate and Gerry know the police investigation cannot go on forever.
"But they will never give up looking for Madeleine.
"When it is shelved, and if there is no result, Kate and Gerry will use money in the fund to continue the hunt.
"That is what it is there for. They paid for their own team of private investigators initially and when the official inquiry ends they will do so again although in the past it has proven to be extremely costly."
Last week, Gerry and Kate said they "still believe in miracles" as Madeleine's 18th birthday approaches.
She would turn 18 on May 12.
In a post on the Official Find Madeleine Campaign Facebook page, her mum and dad, of Rothley, Leics, said: “Never stop believing in hope because miracles happen every day.
"Want to send a heartfelt thank you to all who continue to be by our side.”
Convicted paedophile Christian B, 44, was identified as a suspect in the Madeleine case by German police last June.
He is currently in jail for the rape of a 72-year-old in Praia da Luz – where Madeleine vanished from her family's holiday apartment.
Earlier this month, German prosecutors said they "remain optimistic" they will solve the mystery.
Hans Christian Wolters said an investigation into the prime suspect is running "at full speed".
