AN INFLUENCER who allegedly abused her puppy to gain more followers has been arrested in Georgia.
Brittany Johnson, known as Lovely Peaches online, reportedly sprayed perfume in the six-month-old Jack Russell's eyes, picked it up by its neck and claimed to have broken its legs.
The 20-year-old, from Louisiana, was arrested after Instagram Live viewers contacted the police over the alleged abuse of the dog called Max.
She was taken into custody after cops tracked her down at Motel 6 in DeKalb County in Georgia on January 22.
The puppy is believed to have been taken into the care of DeKalb's animal services.
Johnson, who has more than 140,000 followers on one of her social media pages, had posted a picture with the dog on January 21 with the caption "As I Posted On My Personal Max is no Longer With Us Rip Buddy #6Months on this Earth Keep Me In Prayers."
Despite this, the Jack Russell is reported to still be alive, according to Insider, after Johnson voluntarily signed him over to animal-control officers.
When questioned by police, Johnson admitted to making "statements on her social media about harming or killing her dog to get more followers on social media", according to records.
