Will Disney+ Make More Disney Channel Spinoffs Following the Success of the 'Phineas and Ferb' Movie?

With Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe now available for streaming on Disney+, fans wonder if Disney has plans to revive some of its iconic Disney Channel original series and movies. Here’s what we know about future content debuting on the streaming platform.

There’s already a few Disney Channel spinoffs available exclusively on Disney+

With 104 days of summer vacation, these brothers are always looking for a good way to spend their time. Through all of their crazy adventures, one thing always stays the same — Phineas and Ferb always drive their sister, Candace, insane. Well, not this time. Now, Candace is the star of her own movie, available on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+.

The out-of-this-world animated movie, Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe, is directly from Disney Television Animation. It also includes an original soundtrack and a number of the actors from the original Disney Channel series.

‘Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe’ premiered on the streaming platform during August 2020

This movie stars the underappreciated older sister of Phineas and Ferb, voiced by Ashley Tisdale. Candace is finally here to tell her story and that may or may not include an alien abduction and the secret agent, Perry the Platypus.

According to Geeks and Gamers, Disney originally announced this movie would premiere on the Disney+ streaming platform on April 11, 2019. Over a year later, the movie made an appearance on the Disney+ library.

Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe debuted on Aug. 28 and is currently available for streaming, as are most episodes of the original series. This isn’t the only Disney Channel joining Disney+, though.

Will there be more spinoffs added to Disney+?

Thankfully, there’s plenty of Disney Channel-related content debuting on this streaming platform. That includes the series revival, titled Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, featuring the original cast of The Proud Family.

There’s already the mockumentary series based on the Disney Channel original movie High School Musical, titled High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. In it, the students of East High put on their stage production of this show, complete with behind the scenes drama and original songs.

There are plenty of television shows created by Disney Channel listed on this subscription service, including animated shows from Disney Junior. All episodes of That’s So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Hannah Montana are available for binge-watching.

Teen Beach Movie is available on Disney’s streaming platform, as are Disney Channel original movies High School Musical, Camp Rock, and Descendants.
