EUROVISION was welcomed back into the hearts of us Brits when Sam Ryder's Spaceman saw him all but win the contest in 2022.
The Sun then exclusively revealed that singer Mae Muller is hoping to emulate that success as she represents the UK for the 2023 contest.

Speaking about representing the UK at Eurovision, she told her fans: "GUYS!!! I cannot believe i’m even saying this… but I am this year’s uk entry for EUROVISION 2023 with my track I wrote a song!!!
"This has been the hardest secret to keep in the WORLD (literally nearly let it slip a million times lol scream) but the news is finally out!!! the song is out right now, i’m so pleased it’s finally yours, and what an honour to host on behalf of ukraine, it’s going to be so special ❤️ @eurovision 2023 LETS GO! LIVERPOOL I WILL SEE YOU VERY SOON."
Meanwhile, a source told The Sun: "Finally after years of being an international joke the UK are respected when it comes to their acts.
"The BBC are riding high off the back of Sam Ryder's success and believe Mae is the perfect person for the job.
"The decision has been months in the making and a ring of steel has been placed around those in the know.
"The reason the UK is one of the last countries to submit their song is to keep everyone guessing and to hold their cards to their chest for as long as possible."
Who has represented the UK at Eurovision?
Sam Ryder turned many years of Eurovision hurt into national pride at the contest in Turin, Italy in 2022.
His song Spaceman saw the UK finish second behind Ukraine in the famous coemption.
Before this, we hit an all time low in 2021 when James Newman failed to land a single point with his entry Embers.
Mae will be the first female entrant for the United Kingdom since SuRie in 2018, who finished 24th with just 48 points.
Over the years, the UK has won Eurovision five times.
Is Mae Muller in a relationship?
As of 2023 Mae is a single lady, but she often talks about her ex-boyfriend in her songs.
Speaking to British Vogue, she said: “I know it doesn’t sound like it in my music, but I don’t like break ups or hurting people.
"I always have so much guilt. Sometimes, I pretend everything's all right for months, then it gets worse.
"Once you get that feeling, it doesn’t go away. So you have to be honest from the get-go and have that conversation.

"But now that I’m older and have gone through these experiences, I know that whoever I meet or am with, I’m never going to pressure myself to commit to being with them forever."
