Who is Sam Robertson, the actor who plays Adam Barlow in Coronation Street?

The last we saw of Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) was back in February, after his ‘tryst’ (where she actually knocked him back) with Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) was revealed to her boyfriend Gary Windass (Mikey North).

With his bags packed, he headed out of Weatherfield in a taxi and left Gary and Sarah to sort out their problems themselves.

He’s due back any time soon, and it seems he’s ready to pick up where he left off after being seen filming a kiss with Sarah at a swanky hotel.

Although the coast is clear romantically given Sarah is now single, there’s no indication of where he’ll live, and how Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) will react to his return.

With plenty left up in the air, let’s take a look at the man who plays the Corrie lothario.

Sam Robertson is the Scottish actor that plays Adam, and he’s 33 years old, having been born in Dundee on 11 October 1985.

He studied drama at Manchester Uni, but dropped out when he was cast as Adam at 18 years old in 2004 (taking over from Iain De Caestecker).

That stint as the son of Mike Baldwin lasted until 2007, and before coming back in 2016 he was busy with other projects.

In 2009 he starred as Innes Maitland in Scottish soap River Citym as well as playing Flynn in E4 comedy Beaver Falls.

Celebrity Big Brother also came calling, and Sam appeared on the eleventh series, being the second to be evicted.

He has starred in a few films over the years, including The Legend of Barney Thomson alongside Robert Carlyle, Emma Thompson, and Ray Winstone.

Although there’s little information out there about whether Sam has a partner or not, he did tell OK! magazine that he looks for ‘beautiful, funny’ women, but would often say he was a plumber when on dates to avoid them knowing him.
