When is DI Ray on ITV?

DI Ray is the new crime drama set to hit the ITV screens.

The four-part series is written by Line of Duty actress and screenwriter Maya Sondhi.

When does DI Ray start on ITV?

ITV are yet to confirm when the DI Ray will hit our screens.

Filming for the crime series began in the Midlands during the Autumn of 2021.

This means that the show will likely air mid to late 2022.

Who is in the cast of DI Ray?

Internationally renowned actress Parminder Nagra takes the lead role in the new series as DI Rachita Ray.

She is best known for starring in Bend It Like Beckham, ER and The Blacklist.

Talking about the filming for the series during the pandemic, she said: “I am so looking forward to getting back to the UK after such a challenging time globally to be part of this exciting new project.

“We are being helmed by an amazing team to bring something special to our storytelling landscape.”

The imdb website has released the rest of the cast names which includes Sam Baker-Jones (Damned), Maanuv Thiara (Line of Duty), Ezra Faroque Khan (Melvin Goes to Dinner), Helen George (Call the Midwife), and Peter Bankole (Peaky Blinders) to name a few.

What is DI Ray about?

The series is set in Birmingham, where DI Ray introduce viewers to leicester-born Rachita Ray, a police officer who has just achieved the promotion of her dreams when she is asked to join a homicide investigation.

Although it soon becomes clear that the reason for her being chosen for the role was because the murder case is Culturally Specific.

Despite her hard work and dedication to the police industry, she begins to questions if her heritage rather than her skill set has seen her go up the promotional ladder.
