The Chases Bradley Walsh tells bosses change that as player shares royal link

The Chase star Bradley Walsh demanded that ITV bosses make a change to the name of one of his contestants.

During Wednesday's instalment (August 2) of the hit quiz show, the 63-year-old welcomed Charlotte, Ben, Keith and Melanie into the studio who went head-to-head with Jenny Ryan.

Third to go against The Vixen was 60-year-old Keith, who floored the former Coronation Street actor when he shared more about his regal background.

Keith explained that he is retired and while spending time looking into his family history, he made a surprising discovery.

He explained: "I'm currently tracing my family tree and, believe it or not, you are talking to distant royalty here," leaving the host utterly baffled.

Bradley asked: "Who are you related to?"

The contestant continued: "I traced my family tree back and 22 generations ago the name Plantagenet cropped up.

"So for a very good joke, my sister decided to buy me a piece of land in Scotland so I'm Lord Keith of Glencoe."

"We're going to have to change that now," Bradley responded as he pointed to the player's name on the panel. "We can't just have Keith".

Those working backstage immediately made the altercation to the name on the screen, renaming him: "Lord Keith".

Keith then thanked Bradley for acknowledging his royal title before heading into the cash builder round.

The contestant managed to answer five questions correctly and sailed through to the final chase, taking the panel's overall total to £6,000.
