The Chase: Contestant accepts Darragh’s high offer of £120,000
Darragh, 40, made his debut on The Chase late last year after it was announced a sixth quizmaster was going to be joining the team. As the first new Chaser in five years, viewers were elated to see a new face taking on the contestants. However, just a week into the New Year, fans have been concerned as The Menace hasn’t featured in any of the new episodes of the ITV quiz show.
With Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, 38, on hand to take on four new contestants during Tuesday’s edition of the programme, viewers took to Twitter to query where Darragh was.
One fan wrote on the social media platform: “Was the new Chaser a mirage or a dream? Hasn’t been on for ages. #TheChase.”
Another added: “Have they sacked The Menace? #TheChase,” with a third asking: “Where’s the new chaser at? Only seen him in like two shows #TheChase.”
The Menace was also missing from the latest series of Beat The Chasers, which ITV explained was due to scheduling clashes.
However, a fourth viewer was still baffled by his absence: “Where is #themenace Darragh on #BeatTheChasers? #TheChase @BradleyWalsh @annehegerty4.”

As there are now six Chasers on hand to take on the contestants, they won’t all get a huge amount of air time.
With the quizmasters on rotation, it is likely Darragh’s episodes haven’t played out yet and his appearances will feature in upcoming instalments.
Although The Menace might be holding back at the moment, his co-star Jenny gave her best shot at defeating Bradley Walsh’s, 60, team on Tuesday.
First up to face Jenny was Henry, who managed to accumulate £6,000 during his cash-builder round but he decided not to take a higher or lower offer.

Although the head-to-head was very tense with The Vixen on his tail the whole time, the contestant made it through to the Final Chase.
Next up was player Sue, who also managed to accumulate a fair sum of £5,000 but had to battle the quizmaster to add it to the jackpot.
Once again, the general knowledge guru was defeated as she failed to knock out yet another amateur opponent.
Stephanie was the third contestant to face The Vixen after accumulating £4,000 during her cash-builder round.

There was some contention when it came to the contestant deciding whether she was going to take a higher or lower offer.
The player stated she would “never” take a lower amount to which Jenny told her you should “never, ever say never,” to something which could ease the pressure on making it back to the team.
This meant there was £15,000 in the jackpot and contestant Andy was the last player to try and add to the total.
Andy managed to accumulate £5,000 during his cash-builder round and was offered the chance to play for £45,000.
The contestant decided to stick with what he had and it seemed his luck paid off as he completed the team for the Final Chase.
With £20,000 at stake, the four contestants put their heads together for the first time and managed to accumulate 20 points that Jenny would have to match to knock them out.
Unfortunately, despite their best efforts, the team walked away empty-handed as The Vixen outran them with 13 seconds to spare.
Bradley admitted he was “gutted” with the result, as did Jenny as she commended the player’s efforts.
The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
