Teen Mom fans praise Cole DeBoer for being a 'great father figure' to stepdaughter Aubree as he marks her 12th birthday

TEEN Mom fans have praised Chelsea Houska's husband Cole DeBoer for being a "great father figure" to stepdaughter Aubree as he marked her 12th birthday on social media.

MTV star Chelsea welcomed the pre-teen with troubled ex Adam Lind, who The Sun revealed in April has a warrant out for his arrest for owing child support.

Adam has been largely absent from Aubree's life and he gave up his parental rights for his youngest daughter Paislee, now seven, with ex-fiancée Taylor Halbur in 2018.

Despite the furor with Lind, Chelsea started dating her husband Cole DeBoer in 2014, two years before they ultimately wed.

And Teen Mom viewers have watched Cole go above and beyond for Aubree, with many remembering how much effort he would put into bringing her to the father-daughter dance at her school.

Now celebrating Aubree's 12th birthday, Cole shared a gushing social media tribute to the pre-teen and posted several throwback photos of her throughout the seven years he's been in her life.

He wrote: "Happy Birthday Aubree! 12 years old already! The years are going so fast.

"I am very fortunate I get to watch her grow up and be apart of her life.

"I always have to add the photo of the first night we met, she had a face full of green makeup and the biggest smile."

In light of the post, Cole was praised by their followers for stepping up to be a "father figure" in Aubree's life.

One penned: "So glad she has a great father figure in her life because of you".

Another commented: "This always has me weak. It is SO important for our daughters to have amazing male role models in their lives and you are one of the best for Aubree! Happy birthday special girl 🎂".

"You are a WONDERFUL father to her!!! 👏" a third wrote.

A fourth echoed the praised and shared: "Happy Birthday Aubs!! 🥺 Thank God for men like you who step up and be a parent to someone else’s child."

A fan posted: "You’ve done two amazing things; you’ve stepped in and showed her unconditional love as a father, and you’ve modeled how a man/husband should love his woman/wife.

"She will expect that in her future relationships because she’s see it in her home. 👏👏👏 well done."

While Cole is stepdad to Aubree, he and wife Chelsea have welcomed three children of their own – Watson, four, Layne, three, and seven-month-old Walker.

Aubree's father Adam Lind currently has supervised visitation with her at a center, though he failed to show up to the scheduled meetings on Teen Mom 2.

He is allowed to get lunch with Aubree at her school with his mother on Wednesdays.

Aubree stays with Adam’s mother one weekend of the month, though he is not allowed to be at the home when his daughter is present.

On the show, Chelsea suggested her husband Cole, who she shares son Watson, four, and daughters Layne, two, and Walker, 6 weeks, with, should adopt Aubree, which would force Adam to give up his parental rights.

When Chelsea explained the situation to Aubree off camera, she said how she did not want her father to give up his rights.

Adam has a long rap sheet and has been in and out of jail over the years.

More recently, he was arrested in May 2018 for violation of a stalking protection order. The case was dismissed.

He was also arrested for domestic abuse in November 2017.

The domestic abuse simple assault attempt to cause bodily injury, recklessly causing bodily injury, attempt to put another in fear of bodily harm and intentionally cause bodily injury charges were all dismissed.

He was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 30 days suspended for the two counts of failure to appear in court after he pleaded guilty.

He was ordered to refrain from committing similar offenses until August 30, 2019.
