Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Karim Zeroual pulls out of It Takes Two after falling ill

Zoe Ball returned to Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two tonight after missing last week’s shows as she’d come down with the flu. However when Zoe opened this evening’s instalment of the BBC show she revealed that although she may be feeing better, another Strictly star isn’t doing so well.

Zoe began: “Hello and welcome to Wednesday’s It Takes Two, I’m back baby, yes I am.

“After a flu that had me dance-floored and Strictly bed-ridden but who wouldn’t get up and at them for a line up like this…”

The It Takes Two host then introduced Alex Scott and Neil Jones and Emma Barton and Anton Du Beke.

She then revealed Amy Dowden would be joining her in the studio but without Karim Zeroual.

Zoe continuing: “What? No Karim? He’s got the lurgy too, nothing to do with me I promise.

“Karim, get better soon,” she added before continuing on with the show.

Later on in the show, Amy gave an update on how the CBBC presenter is doing this week.

“Darling, you have a poorly panda on your hands,” Zoe remarked. “How is Karim, give us the latest.”

Amy shared: “He’s got the lurgy, so he’s resting up because obviously we need him fighting fit ready for Saturday night.”

“He’s so disappointed not to be here!” she added.

Zoe remarked: “He needs to rest, it mows you right down.”

The It Takes Two host went on to ask Amy how the pair felt about falling down the leaderboard last weekend.

Amy admitted he was disappointed and said: “He did everything I asked of him, I thought he was a brilliant panda.”

“He loved it and this is the most incredible journey and all I want for him is to have fun and look back on this and know he’s had the best time.

“When he came off, he said ‘I had the best time ever out there’ and that’s all I can ask for.”

Meanwhile, earlier in the week David James fought back tears on It Take Two as he reflected on his upcoming performance.
