Spoilers: Was Mick abused in EastEnders as he discovers Frankie's his daughter?

Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) has been left shocked to the core tonight after Frankie (Rose Ayling-Ellis) dropped the bombshell that she thinks he is her dad in EastEnders.

And this has drawn speculation from fans given that Danny has always insisted Mick would never cheat on his beloved L that there is more to this story than meets the eye.

We know from his storyline with Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) that Mick had a troubled childhood. So if Mick didn’t cheat on Linda (Kellie Bright) – could Frankie be the result of secret abuse that Mick suffered when he was younger – and something he has bottled up ever since?

Fans are certainly not ruling it out and have been throwing around the concept for some time.

In the scenes tonight, Mick was horrified when Frankie took Ollie to the park – he has been concerned about her obsessive behaviour after she took photos of the family and has been asking questions about them.

As he confronted her, he told her that it was sad she lost a brother but she can’t latch onto their family.

As Mick walked away, Frankie told him he is family – as he could be her dad.

In upcoming scenes, Simone Lahbib will enter the storyline, which has been described as ‘important’. Danny has also stated that it is the best material he has been given.

There’s definitely more to it but are viewers onto something?

Or will it take a different twist?
