He terrorised Coronation Street for near enough five years and soon, Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) will make a shocking and haunting return.
Well, sort of.
Don’t worry, Phelan’s not coming back as a ghost, but his time on the cobbles will be looked at once more as Todd (Gareth Pierce) will discover George (Tony Maudsley) has Phelan’s ashes at the funeral parlour.
If you were living under a rock when Pat Phelan lived in Weatherfield, the serial killers reign consisted of him conducting various crimes including stealing, deceit, murder, kidnap and rape.
Phelan’s life came to an end when Anna Windass stabbed him in the chest.
Phelan was also Eileen’s (Sue Cleaver) partner, and with her struggling to start a relationship with George as she doesn’t think she deserves to be happy, could the discovery of the serial killers ashes help Eileen finally move on?
Keen to show his gratitude towards George for standing by him, Todd conducts a thorough clear out of the store room at the undertakers.
As George masks his uneasiness, Todd emerges from the storeroom holding the urn containing Phelan’s ashes.
George tells Todd that he never found the right moment to tell Eileen, but what will they do?
If Eileen discovers the ashes, will she dispose of them?
If so, how?
