Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) has pledged his unwavering support for Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) after she was the victim of an attempted sexual assault in EastEnders when her date drugged her and tried to attack her.
Jay chased him away and took Honey to hospital and when she woke up, she had no recollection of what had happened and the overwhelming emotion of the trauma hit her, with Jay there to support her.
As Honey insisted that she had had hardly anything to drink, a doctor spoke to her and told her that the police were outside if she felt up to speaking -to which Jay said she didn’t need to if she didn’t feel comfortable.
He was by her side as she told the officer about the date and how she couldn’t remember what had happened after leaving the restaurant and when alcohol consumption was brought up, Jay pointed out it shouldn’t have mattered how much Honey had to drink – she was assaulted.
Afterwards, a tearful Honey questioned whether even Jay believed her and he assured her that he did 100% – he wanted to protect her and he knew her so deeply that he wanted it to be her choice to speak to the police.
Addressing her confidence issues and eating disorder, Jay explained to her that he just wanted her to be in control this time and she was grateful.
As he vowed to support her all the way, will Honey get justice?
