Strictly Come Dancing’s Clara Amfo joined Loose Women Ruth Langsford, Janet Street-Porter, Nadia Sawalha and Linda Robson to discuss her dance journey so far. However, as the BBC Radio 1 presenter admitted her fears over remembering the Aljaž Škorjanec’s routines, Ruth shared advice from her own time on the show.
Ruth and Anton were eliminated in week eight during the 2017 series but the Loose Women presenter explained Clara needn’t worry about forgetting the steps.
Clara shared: “Even last week I said to Aljaž, ‘Do I know my steps? I know my steps, don’t I?‘
“He said, ‘Yes partner, you know your steps’ and I said, ‘Are you sure?’”
Ruth said: “Can I let you into a secret? Anton will back you up with this.”

“I never knew my steps. I literally never did. I honestly never did and I’m happy to admit it,” she continued.
“I just could not get choreography. I couldn’t remember it so I just used to hang on to him and think he’ll pull me round we’ll get through this.
“A lot of it was bluff but you seem to be remembering the steps and Aljaž is a lovely guy.”
Ruth went on to praise Clara for keeping up with training while hosting her radio show.
She said: “What nobody tells you because they don’t want to spoil the experience, because it’s very exciting when you get invited on Strictly, is that there’s so much hard work.
“You’re doing your radio show on Radio One every morning, and then you’re going on to training.”
Clara told her: “Sleep, what is sleep? Oh gosh.
“Usually I finish Radio One, I try and get some lunch in while we plan what we’re going to do for the next few days afterwards, so I’m in a meeting with my producer.”

“Then usually I’m in a car from around two-ish to get to our rehearsal space,” she explained.
“We won’t stop until… yeah the other week for tango we were rehearsing until about 10 o’clock for that one.
“You don’t realise where the time goes, to be honest, you walk in and it’s broad daylight and you leave and it’s pitch black.”
Clara went on to admit she’d turned down Strictly a “few times” before subsequently signing up.
She explained: “I’ve been asked to do the show a few times before but I was a bit too afraid.
“I think I was just too nervous, you know, this studio is my home, it’s where I feel safe, no one can really see me, I chat to my listeners and we have a laugh.”
This weekend, Clara and Aljaž will be performing a Charleston to Baby Face by Julie Andrews.
Strictly Come Dancing returns this Saturday at 7:25pm on BBC One. Loose Women airs weekdays on ITV at 12.30pm.
