Ruth Langford marks territory on This Morning ahead of Holly Willoughby’s return

Ruth Langsford began leaving her mark on the This Morning set, prior to the return of the show's usual host Holly Willoughby.

The ITV legend, along with her iconic TV husband Eamonn Holmes, both 60, have stepped in during the summer time of the daytime series to give full time hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby a needed break.

Seemingly enjoying fronting the show, Ruth showed who was boss as she left her mark of presence for Holly to find next week.

During yesterday's episode, the husband and wife duo were let loose with labelling devices to showcase transparent ideas for parents who were hoping to return their children to school in September.

They enjoyed the segment that portrayed different idea's for adding a unique identify to school uniforms, lunch boxes and stationery.

After being handed a wad of stickers with her name on, she couldn't wait to start the labelling process in the studio.

Getting stuck in and looking for verification, Ruth held up an iPad asking: "This is mine, isn't it?"

Seeing through his wife's plot to claim the tablet as her own, Eamonn questioned whether Holly would be pleased with Ruth's labelling when she returned next week.

He quipped: "Oh Holly will like that!"

Completely ignoring her husband, she hilariously continued to mark her territory with an abundance of stickers.

Much loved usual hosts, Holly and Phil have been missing from screens since the beginning of July but are due to make a refreshing comeback on September 1.

With the rumour mill running wild at the moment, fans fear that Holly could announce she may be parting ways from her TV sidekick Phil after working together for over 11 years.

Speculation began to emerge after the Celebrity Juice panelist announced she'd decided to manage herself, axing her former agency YMU in the process.

The 39-year-old, who has a high-flying presenting career made the transition in a bid to take ownership of better "work-life-balance."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV
