Masked Singer star breaks down in tears at the end of emotional performance behind their costume, reveals Davina McCall

DAVINA McCall has revealed that a Masked Singer contestant broke down in tears at the end of their emotional performance behind their costume.

The popular ITV show, hosted by Joel Dommett, is back on our screens early next month.

Davina and fellow judges Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan will do their best to try and figure out the celebrity singing behind the mask.

And one particular famous face got extremely emotional after performing on stage.

David said: "Rockhopper did a performance that was so lovely and afterwards we could see that Rockhopper was actually crying after their performance.

"I felt like we needed to give them a moment to compose themselves.

"It was incredibly moving, it was really lovely that you can be so moved by a performance in a mask, that's moved you to tears when you haven’t been able to connect with somebody with your face."

Rockhopper will be joined by 11 other celebs hiding behind the costumes of Chandelier, Bagpies, Lionfish, Doughnuts, Traffic Cone, Bamboo-zling, Mushroom, Firework, Poodle, Snow Leopard and Robobunny.

The Masked Singer, which is based on the South Korean version of the show King of Mask Singer, premiered back in January 2020.

It became a huge hit with fans after trying to figure out who the person is behind the crazy costume.

Davina is excited for the programme to make a return.

She added: "It’s so nice, I really feel like it's a show that we understand, we know what we are looking for, we know what we want to get and we know how we need to get it.

"It's really fun and we now feel bedded into part of the TV landscape and viewers yearly TV viewing."
