Mark Wright hailed as 'a true friend' as he helps pal James 'Arg' Argent after he ballooned to 28st

MARK Wright has been hailed as a "true friend" to his old pal James Argent after he ballooned to 28 stone.

The singer and Towie favourite, 33, told The Sun how he has been left unable to do up his own shoelaces and ordered: "Lose weight or die.”

His shocking weight gain – brought on by lockdown – left Mark and his footballer brother Josh in tears.

Last night Mark was among the first to post a supportive message to Arg as he shared a slim picture of himself saying he wanted to be that happy again.

James wrote: "Its time to be honest with myself & put my health first, Enough is enough!

"My dream is to be as happy & healthy as I was in this photo, I loved myself & felt confident!"

Mark, who is a personal trainer who does daily workouts online, told him: "Let’s go baby 🙌."

One fan replied: "True mate right there 👌🏻."

Arg told The Sun how Mark helped him get on the scales calling the pro footballer his "inspiration".

He said: “Mark is my inspiration – he’s got his life together, he’s fit and healthy, he’s got a gorgeous wife and a successful career.

"There’s no reason why I can’t achieve all of those things too when I’ve lost weight.

“He wants to help me and told me ‘get on the scales’. It’s embarrassing to say, but they were so upset when they saw I was nearly 27 stone.

“We used to banter because I was always the chubby one, but this time Mark just said ‘Arg, this isn’t even funny anymore, this is serious.’

“And he’s right. Nobody wants to work with me or take me seriously.

"I don’t have a girlfriend because I’m too self-conscious and unconfident to take my clothes off.

"I bought this big family home a few years ago to settle down in, but now I’m living here alone with no family in it.

"The other day I had to ask my manager to put my shoes on for me because I just couldn’t do it — my belly is too big. I can’t do up my own shoe laces.”
