This year's Winter Love Island pairings have been revealed, but the shock announcement of an early bombshell has caused tensions.

The first episode of the hit ITV show aired on Monday (January 16) as 10 stunning Islanders made their way into the lavish South African villa ahead of the show launch.

Maya Jama took over as host from former presenter Laura Whitmore and, upon arrival, quizzed the islanders on their romantic interests and types.

This year's girls, who are on the hunt for romance, include: Tanya Manhenga, Lana Jenkins, Anna-May Robey, Tanyel Revan and Olivia Hawkins.

And as for the boys: Kai Fagan, Ron Hall, Will Young, Shaq Muhammad and Haris Namani have made their way into the villa.

In the opening episode, viewers learned who had paired up with who as the ladies got to choose which boy they partnered with.

Lana Jenkins, a 25-year-old makeup artist, partnered up with Ron Hall, a Financial Advisor from Essex and is the show's first partially-sighted contestant.

22-year-old biomedical science student, Tanya Manhenga, partnered with Shaq Muhammad, an airport security officer from London.

While hairstylist Tanyel Revan, 26, is paired up with 24-year-old science and PE teacher Kai Fagan from Manchester.

Anna-May Robey is a payroll administrator from Swansea and coupled up with Haris, a TV salesman from Doncaster.

Olivia Hawkins, 23, a ring girl and actress, who's partnered with 23-year-old farmer Will Young from Buckinghamshire, is wrapping up the line-up.

However, it didn't take long until viewers heard of the news that a "couple split" was on the cards as Maya returned to the villa to announce the arrival of a bombshell.

Bombshell Tom Clare soon made his way into the house, causing tensions to be rife as Maya announced a re-coupling was on its way.

She announced to the other Islanders that Tom would have 24 hours to get to know the girls and that there would be a twist the next day.

Tom will get to pick whichever girl he wants to couple up with, leaving her current male partner single and at risk of being dumped.

Fans fear it could be all over for Will Young less than 24 hours after entering the villa after eagle-eyed viewers spotted a telling clue.

One user penned: “Will is on that yellow bean bag.. I fear he is going to have a terrible time #LoveIsland.”
