Linda Carter will make a brief return to EastEnders this festive season, with actress Kellie Bright reprising her role.
The Queen Vic landlady will come face-to-face with legendary schemer Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) for the first time in over seven years.
Janine, as viewers know, has her sights set on Mick (Danny Dyer), and over the holiday period she will go to extreme lengths to get her claws into him.
Upcoming scenes will see her find out that Mick isn’t spending Christmas with Linda, and desperate to find out what’s going on, she makes it her mission to track Linda down.
Janine succeeds, and – in ultimate Janine fashion – her scheming knows no bounds.
Mick and Linda’s marriage will be put to the ultimate test as a result of Janine’s meddling, but will the soulmates end up splitting?
Or is even the almighty Janine no match for the love the popular couple share for one another?
You’ll just have to tune in to find out.
Linda left the Square in September, after Rainie Highway (Tanya Franks) discovered that her newborn baby Annie was Max Branning’s (Jake Wood).
The landlady was terrified that Max would find out about her baby and return, and thus she resolved to get out of dodge before that happened.
Mick assisted in getting Linda out of Walford, but he later returned to the Square on his own.
It appears as if there is plenty of conflict between the couple, however, but will Janine’s meddling prove to be the final straw?
Or will love prevail?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday December 28 at 8:10pm on BBC One.
